Sir Sterling's famous castle was everything the tabloids suspected it would be. Well, everything except for those parts about aliens and lavish orgy rooms. No, as far as castles went, it was actually relatively tame. Stone walls, large rooms, no central heating and everywhere you looked another opulent imitation of the famous Sir Sterling "family" crest. Seriously, it was like the Hidden Mickey, it was so prevalent in its design.

However, what is most important at this moment in time is the central dining hall. This was where a rag-tag gaggle of kids, teenagers, and a few older folks all sat at at tables, with what basically amounted to the stereotypical medieval feast spread out in front of them. They chatted, they ate, they gave sideways glances at the distressingly large number of identical looking guards, clad in black suits and black berets, a sword on their hips, standing still as statues in rows on both sides of the room. But mostly, they waited. So far, the host of this little get-together had yet to show himself. When he did... well, that meant something a little bit different for everybody, didn't it?

You happen to find yourself at one of these tables. Near you, you find others like you, prospective young supers who, unbeknownst to you, will factor quite heavily into your future.

Riley was busy devouring an entire turkey leg by himself, 'table manners' on full display. Still, the presence of guards threw him off a little; he didn't like an audience when he ate, even when he was fully entitled to it. He fixed them with a succession of increasingly less surreptitious sidelong glances, weirded out by their impassiveness. He put his turkey leg to the side as he made a decision.

There was a muted *paf*, and abruptly he was mere inches from a random guard's face. Riley stuck his tongue out and waggled it back and forth; there was still a little turkey in his mouth. Then, a split second later there was another muted puff and he was sitting innocently back at his table, tucking into more grub.

Megan was sitting at the table, thanking Powers That Be for the first time ever that her previous school had such exquisite uniforms. Ironing them was way too much of a bother, but, at least, they looked at least somewhat appropriate here... not that many people here care about being underdressed... or about how they look at all, she noted, looking around and seeing a black boy of about twelve biting at the turkey leg as if he hadn't eaten anything for a week. Which, of course, can be exactly the reason. Megan herself didn't eat much - or, rather, she wasn't hurrying it. Even more weight-conscious than most 15-year-old girls, she kept a strict diet, knowing that even a single extra pound could ruin her coordination.
To pass time, the girl was balancing her chair on the rear legs; having to keep her table manners meant she couldn't move much, which made the trick at least slightly challenging. So far, it seemed, the people at her table hadn't noticed she was doing it at all, she noticed with a glint of pride. The next moment a strange sound came from behind her back, and Megan instinctively leaned forward, almost letting the chair's front legs to touch the floor... it was a save by a margin of barely an inch. She immediately rocked back, turning sideways to look over her shoulder just in time to notice the turkey-leg-boy disappearing with another puff. Megan shook her head and resumed eating.

Adam was eating rather slowly for two apparent reasons. One, he wasn't that hungry and two, he was wearing a all white ensemble, a habit he picked up in Bayside and as he slowly ate, knew he had to drop sooner or later.

As he heard a strange sound, he immediately reached for his pocket, frowning a little when it was as empty as it should be. As he does so, he glances up, noticing a 12 year old, appear in front of a guard, stick out his tongue and reappear back in his seat. He rolls his eyes and returns to his plate.

In a red hoodie, short black skirt, black and white knee socks, tennis shoes and a complete state of immense boredom, the fifteen year old Vixen sits only a few seats away from the teleporting turkey terror who she finds at least somewhat interesting. His antics make her want to play a couple tricks of her own, but she decides it'd be better to lay low until she knows what the guards can do; those swords would hurt a bit if she was on the wrong side of one.

She eats with a bored look on her face; surely something exciting has to happen in the hall of Sir Sterling? She moves a raven lock out of her face before her azure eyes lock on a hunk of meat she thinks to be tasty.

Riley noticed Adam's eyeroll with some amusement. Riley stared openly and unblinkingly at the top of Adam's head, waiting for him to look up from his plate. When he did, Riley grinned and said, "Hi!"

"Oh hey kid," he says, taking another bite from his meal.

So, why did you do that? he continues asking just before he takes another bite.

"It's Riley, not 'kid'." Despite his words, Riley's tone isn't the least bit annoyed or resentful. In fact, he seems happy someone struck up a conversation. It didn't stop him from chomping down on his turkey leg at the same time, though, making his words a little muffled. "And why not do that? It's a school, right? We're supposed to be learning and stuff, and today I wanted to learn if these guys are robots or not."

The guard does not stir at first as the kid appeared in front of him. It was almost as though he did not have reflexes to speak of. Instead, after a lengthy pause, he and every guard standing next to him turned their heads whatever degree was necessary to fix the trouble-making kid with a blank, emotionless stare. Then, after holding that position for just long enough to give several nearby kids a degree or two of the heebie-jeebies, they all seemed, simultaneously, to decide that it was not worth leaving their posts, whereupon they all resumed their vigil of the middle distance.

It was around this time that the air in the room got suddenly more serious. Stepping out of a large arched doorway (which, naturally, was adorned with a crest) was perhaps the most recognizable man in New Essex. Sir Sterling was a veritable wall of a man, and neither age nor the fact that he stood before the gathered group outside of his iconic armor did nothing to hinder the sheer gravitas that seemed to ooze out of every pore and from every follicle of his viciously pointed mustache.

He made his way to the main table, but did not take his seat. He fixed the room with a glare, the same glare that might have been leveled at many an errant criminal.

The heavy doors closed with a boom.

Then, as if on that cue, the guards began to fan out, walking down the aisles and blankly staring at each of the students in turn.

Okay, Riley. he replies to his statement rolling his eyes and grinning.

As Sterling and the guards looks them over, he eyes them suspiciously, again subconsciously reaching for his pocket.

Vixen looks excitedly to the imposing man that was surely Sir Sterling but her face turns into a bit of a scowl upon seeing his 'stache. She quickly recovers but makes a note that his facial hair will be her first target should she start a villainy career. Her momentary lapse out of her smile was fast enough that she hopes only those paying attention to her would notice and hopefully nobody was.

Riley, for one, thought Sir Sterling's mustache was in fact very distinguished and dashing, but that was entirely beside the point right now. If he didn't like being watched while he ate before, now it was almost unacceptable. He vanished again, this time reappearing cross-legged underneath the table with his plate balanced on his lap. He squinted balefully out at the sea of identical knees and calves arrayed around the student tables.

Megan decided the appearance of Sir Sterling was important enough to gave it her full attention, and landed her chair on all fours - managing it without a sound. She quickly looked around, noticing the guards' repositioning, pondering for a moment whether she should be alarmed by that, but ultimately deciding not to worry. She also noticed the teleporting kid's disappearance - and let an expression that was a cross between the smile and the pout - the boy was quite funny, actually, in her opinion, but terrible at reading the atmosphere. Either that, or he just didn't bother.

"Sterling!"

Whoever the man was who hopped up onto the center table, he did not even wait for the guards to approach him. "You are a fool for opening your doors to the crowds. Did you think that I could not insinuate myself into the common folk?"

With a dramatic flair, the man tugged at his clothes, which ripped off his body with uncanny ease to reveal a spandex outfit that just seemed to drip with raw charisma. Loud Latin pop began to pump through the room as fully half the room also leapt to their feet and began to remove their civilian clothes. Within moments, the room looked like the stage of one of the most shamelessly ostentatious pop concerts in the world, with backup dancers sporting costumes that, by all rights, should not have ever fit underneath their hoodies and jeans. "Haa ha ha ha!" The leader laughed with a hammy pose. "Now, prepare yourself to finally face defeat at the hands of Donny Caballero, international superstar!"

The guards, unfazed by these new developments, made a move to immediately arrest the man. Unfortunately, a pair of backup dancers to either side of him each threw a rose into the air. These roses exploded in a bright corona of crackling electricity, and when the light faded, all the guards seemed frozen in place, fazing in and out of reality like a faulty television broadcast. And the pop music began to pipe in even louder.

As the ridiculous dude appeared, months of experience kicked in, Adam leaps up from his chair and lands on the table, getting a roundhouse kick in the direction of Donny.

To Hit

he has to make a DC 17 toughness save

Months of experience kicked in as Adam practically leaped onto the table, entering a combat stance.

Vixen coyly smiled from her seat at the "International superstar" and let the venom sneak into her voice as she berated the man with her chin resting on her palm and an elbow on the nice table. "Oh my, a real star! Except, I've never heard of you. What's with the spandex, Jackson and friends, all of you trying out for Sterling's wrestling team?"

She then stands up an calmly pushes her chair in before jamming her thumbs in her hoodie pockets to wait for a response. Underneath her calm confidence, she's berating herself for taunting Sterling's rogue gallery and making herself a target without a better insult than comparing him to the king of pop.

Using Taunt to try and demoralize the group with snarky MEANNESS. I'm not adding in any disadvantage, so if there is one my bonus won't be as high.

Deception against Deception, Insight or Will Defense [roll0]

Then I'm taking a move action to get out of my chair. I suppose.

At the sudden appearance of such a gathering, Megan instinctively pushed herself away from the table, falling on her back together with the chair... at least she hoped it looked like an instinctive move. Arching her back at the last moment, she went into a handstand, lifting the chair off the floor with her legs and kicking it into the nearest backup dancer, her playing with the chair earlier giving her a pretty good idea of it's center of mass and overall balance. Spinning in the air, the chair hits the man legs first just as the girl springs back to her feet, ready to face whoever these people were. Seriously, what was the chance of a villain appearing here, today? Then, she remembered what she read about super-heroing and corrected herself, Come to think of it, pretty high, actually... Probably shouldn't have left my Buzzer in the bag in the front room...
Using Move action to feint with Acrobatics via Agile Feint advantage, with a -5 penalty; Routine check via Skill Mastery makes for a result of DC19 Insight or Acrobatics roll for a backup dancer, leaving him vulnerable on a fail.
Standart action to Power Attack (for +2, without a feat) said backup dancer with an improvised throwing weapon; that would be a [roll0] to hit, and a DC 16 toughness save.
And if you rule I have to use a move action to actually get out of the table, I'll burn a HP to get the move, the feint and the attack.

update: and it's a beginner's luck, it seems :-) the attack auto-hits and, if the 21 is enough to hit normally, the attack is either boosted to DC 21 toughness save, or, if the backup are minions, makes an instant KO.

Riley teleported out from under the table over to in front of Donny Caballero. He was still holding his plate of turkey, and his mouth was full when he talked. "'scuse me, can you maybe do this again later instead? We're trying to eat here, so you're being kind of a dorkbag."

Readying an action to attack Donny with the dinner plate should he decide not to go away and try again later.

Attack Roll: [roll0]
DC 18 Toughess save if successful.
