Blink Dog Improved Familiar

I'm just wondering if I take Blink Dog as my Improved Familiar and use it as my mount, am I able benefit from his special abilities "Blink" and "Dimensional Door".

Seems to me since we can share spells that this would work but i'm not sure.
Would be great for sneak attacking.

By RAW, I would say no.


Dimension Door (Su)
A blink dog can teleport, as dimension door (caster level 8th), once per round as a free action. The ability affects only the blink dog, which never appears within a solid object and can act immediately after teleporting.

Since it is not actually a spell, I don't think it works. Also, from A⪚


If a blink dog's rider wears a ring of blinking, the dog and ring attune to each other through a sympathetic magical effect so that dog and rider blink in unison. No effect has been discovered that allows a blink dog to teleport with the rider using dimension door.

Of course, I think A&EG is an older book, so maybe something else came out after that changed this. You can always just ask for a house rule, or find a custom make a dimension door enchanted saddle or something.
