Does there happen to be a list anywhere that tells all the spells that give passive bonuses just for learning them, for example Haze of Smoldering Stone from Dragon Magic gives you a fire resistance of 3 that stacks with anything, just for knowing the spell.

Nothing in the Spell Compendium, but from Dragon Magic:

{table=head]Spell name | class/level | Bonus
Adoration of the Frightful | Bard 3, cleric 3, hexblade 2, sorcerer/wizard 3 | +1 competence bonus on Diplomacy checks.
Burst of Glacial Wrath | Sorcerer/wizard 9 |5 cold resistance, which stacks with any other resistance to cold he already possesses.

Call of the Twilight Defender| Druid 6, sorcerer/wizard 6 | +1 competence bonus on Knowledge (nature) checks.
Haze of Smoldering Stone | Druid 7, sorcerer/wizard 6, wu jen 6 (fire) | 3 resistance to fire, which stacks with any other resistance to fire he already possesses.
Mind of the Labyrinth | Sorcerer/wizard 8 | +1 competence bonus on Bluff checks.
Vision of the Omniscient Eye | Bard 3, cleric 3, druid 3, sorcerer/wizard 3 | +1 competence bonus on Spot checks. [/table]

Suppose giving wizards too many free buffs for learning spells would just be silly  thanks

I think Magic of Eberron has some spells which have a bonus for having them prepared.

How does that work for Clerics?
They just gain them, they don't exactly learn them.

Perhaps it gives Favored Souls a bonus that Clerics wouldn't have.

As long as it's prepared for the day?

I just checked, and bonus explicitly doesn't apply for Clerics or Wizards, or any other class which prepares spells from a class list or spellbook.

I just checked, and bonus explicitly doesn't apply for Clerics or Wizards, or any other class which prepares spells from a class list or spellbook.
Specifically:
Characters gain an extra benefit by learning some of these spells, as noted in the "Special" entry after a spell's description. This benefit applies to any character who has a list of spells known, such as a bard, sorcerer, warmage (see Complete Arcane) or favored soul (see Complete Divine), bur not to characters who prepare spells from a class list or a spellbook, such as a cleric or wizard. It applies as long as the spell remains on the character's list of known spells. If she later removes the spell (for example, if a sorcerer swaps it for another spell of the same level), she loses the benefit, too. Wizards don't need any extra help. :smallwink:

oh, well darn lol don't think any of them are worth learning even as a sorcerer then, maybe that one that summons the tree dragon just because it can heal you, sort of a pseudo-healing spell for sorcerers.
