Just wondering if a marshal's motivate strength applies to grapple checks or not and if it doesn't would it be balanced if homebrewed?

Not by RAW, but I can't see the harm in allowing it.

Actually, allowing it to apply to grapple checks would be just like granting the grappler a +1 attack bonus, which is already covered by another Aura. Also, if you argued for grapple checks, why not sunders? or bull rushes?

The marshal's Art of War aura grants bonuses to disarm, trip, bull rush, and sunder attempts. Would grapple be more appropriate under this aura?

It is a check that uses Strength, but it is not a Strength check.

Strength checks are for busting down doors, breaking chains, etc.
