Okay, the way I read it one could create a Staff of Elder Glyph of Warding (LoM) which casts Greater Glyph of Warding (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/spells/glyphOfWardingGreater.htm) set to cast Glyph of Warding (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/spells/glyphOfWarding.htm). Right?

Why not a Staff of Elder Glyph of Warding set to cast Elder Glyph of Warding set to cast Elder Glyph of Warding set to cast Prestidigitation (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/spells/prestidigitation.htm)?

Where does it end, what does RAW have to say on the matter, and is there a creative use for the idea?
Does it even increase the cost of the item to nest spells this way?

Fueling Energy Transformation Fields (MoF) which cast more spells is about the only thing I can think of. Too bad ETF has that pesky 'no expensive components' clause or it'd get even more convoluted.

I may be wrong here, but...

Normally when you cast a spell using a wand/scroll/potion, any optional feature of that spell is chosen at the moment of casting, not the moment the object storing it is crafted.

My understanding is that when you cast glyph of warding, you then get to pick a spell you know to store in the ward. If you create a wand of glyph of warding you don't select a spell for the ward when the wand is created. Instead when someone uses the wand to create a ward at that moment they can pick a spell they know to store in the ward. In this way what you describe is not possible.

If this is the case, and it likely is, I'm certainly no expert on how spells interact, would one be capable of using the same Staff or Scroll for both the Glyph and the spell to be placed in it?

If it helps, I know that Contingency (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/spells/contingency.htm) declares that the spell it casts must be cast with it, and that technically Energy Transformation Field (MoF) only requires you to 'have access to the spell' or somesuch.

Glyph of Warding states that the stored spell must be one you know, so that is definitely out. You do not know a spell just because you have a wand of it.

The wording of Energy Transformation Field seems a little ambiguous to me. I can't see a section governing what constitutes a linked spell or any restrictions on what that spell can be.

Contingency I think works as you say though, you could cast both Contingency and the companion spell from wands I believe.

Yo dawg, I heard you like spells, so I put a spell in your spell, so you can cast while you cast.
