Quite simply, are there any prestige classes that can advance both monk and shadowcaster?

No.

You could possibly homebrew the Tashalatora feat to apply to Shadowcaster, however.

Unfortunately, all of the monkish classes that progress casting specify arcane or divine, meaning they won't work with a shadowcaster.

Shame about that. No non-specified casting advancing monk PrCs. Oh well.

As for the feat. Thank you for the suggestion. It looks simple enough. It would make a mix of the two even better (Umbral Touch + Flurry of Blows already has so much potential). Still, nothing official that promotes the mix, though Monastic Training could make leveling such a character easier.

You have successfully integrated martial arts with shadow magic
Requirements: Monastic Training (mystery-using class), Concentration 5 ranks, Knowledge (the planes) 5 ranks, ability to cast 1st level mysteries.
Benefit: Your levels in the mystery-using class you selected for Monastic Traning stack with your monk levels to determine your AC bonus, flurry of blows attacks, and unarmed damage from the monk class.

Now, to pose the obvious question. Does anyone have advice for a build involving a monk/shadowcaster?

Find a way to benefit using flickerporting.

A mystery I keep forgetting about, but a useful one. Im sure there are many builds revolving around the use of teleporting in combat, thus a number of guides. Thank you for bringing that one up.

What attracted me to the idea of mixing the two classes, though certainly not something to necessarily focus a character on, is the Umbral touch mystery. I can see it mixed with flurry of blows for a fair bit of damage.

Following up on Tvtyrant's suggestion, the Sun School feat will allow you to make an unarmed attack after you teleport. Add in Snap Kick to make it two attacks. With Flicker, you can now take your turn and normal, then Flicker as an immediate action off turn to make two more attacks.

You can use your monk bonus feats to get some extra use out of Umbral Fist, from the Cityscape web enhancement (http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/we/20070307a).

Shadowcaster -> Renegade Mastermaker is almost like a Monk/Shadowcaster on its own with that battle fist. You'd probably want to splash some Warblade for the maneuvers and chassis.
