Ok, so question about the Ranger alt class feature...

So the entry states that the creature attacked is considered flanked until the begining of your next turn or until attacked by another character

So, my question is: what about a pc with multiple attacks per round? Is only the first attack from that PC eligable for the flank bonus? Or would his entire full round attack count?

"Until attacked" means just that; full attacks do not go off simultaneously, so only the first gets flanking.

One effective use of this requires two Rangers with Distracting Shot, and as many enemies as the Rangers have iterative attacks. Then the first Ranger attacks enemies once each, and they're all considered flanked. The second Ranger attacks all the same targets, getting the flanking bonus, and they're again considered flanked. Repeat, with all of the enemies being considered flanked at range. Alternatively you can substitute a bow-wielding Rogue for the second Ranger, getting to add sneak attack damage to all the "flanked" enemies the Ranger sets up.

I'm actually working on this schtick right now with a rogue in our party. With a little timing it seems like it's going to work out nicely.

would probably want a warblade with WRT to make sure the ranger is always ahead

It does say "by another character". Would that not mean it applies to the Ranger's attacks just fine?

It wouldn't really matter, would it? If the flanked bonus disappears when the creature is attacked, but it's attacked by the same Ranger's iterative attack, then it might stop being counted as flanked but then immediately start counting as flanked again.

Well, it matters to the extent that if the Ranger keeps attacking the same target, they won't get any flanking benefits; they'll only be able to serve them up for others with their last shot each turn.
