A bit of a Billy Corgan vibe going on, could be guitar in the background though!

Unfortunately not, just British. Mind you, that probably means there might be a bit of Viking in there somewhere.

Also the hair helps, and it isn't real. Well, it is real, but the colour isn't.

Yeah, a lot of the Brits, especially Scots are definitely carrying loads of that sweet, sweet viking blood. :smalltongue:

It looks eerily natural!

I'm also a bit leery of posting pics up on the web, but you guys are all pretty brave, so I'll pony up.
If I had to characterize it I'd say I'm a cross between John Goodman and Heavy Steven Seagal. Maybe some Lewis Black.
One of my exes said I look a little bit like Rick Trevino.
As I get older and lose a little weight I'm hoping to get a little closer to a Tommy Lee Jones (who my mothers dad looked like) or a dark haired Harrison Ford (my dad when he was thin had a very Harrison Ford look)... Neither of those seems much likely at this point.
Maybe if I get lucky I'll hit sort of a dark haired Jeff Bridges...
Definite scandinavian heritage though.
My dad's family tree runs from colorado back to minnesota back to prussia back to denmark back to norway. My last name ends with an ssen.

Yes indeed. My ozzy osbourn hair... I usually shave bald, then let it grow out to about there. I'll wear a samurai/qui gon jin/47 ronin style toptail/mullet combo for a bit... When I get tired of dealing with it i'll shave it down again. I donate to locks of love.

Congratulations, you're cute, hope that's working out well for you.

The baldness and the contrast between your skin in the flash of the camera and the darkness of your clothing has me thinking "Sith Lord?" more than fixating upon your baldness. So there's that at least?

For some reason, I'm picturing this as a puddle of black pudding ooze, only it's hair instead. You've summoned it into this world, and now it'll silently crawl into people's houses at night, slipping through door chinks and ventilation shafts to strangle them in their sleep and devour them. He also gives us free boxes of (as in two pounds) of biscuits.

But yeah, he was transferring all of his Doctor Who into digital form, and he did from from VHS/TV/DVD to digital/computer form, sometimes in multiple steps, as with the videos. So when Dad found out about his massive endeavour Dad offered to take all the DVDs off his hands.

Mock? Praytell, why mock?
Though joking some may make it,
I prefer not to strike it.
Oft a jeer, to the heart, might feel, a thrown rock.

Alas, the Doctor yet sits upon my long list
Of stories to read, stories to watch,
Vowed to a Whovian friend, upon her couch, it shan't be missed.
But--- tsk--- that day is yet too far for modest me to catch.

Is that a dictionary I see before me?
A legion of Penguins, standing strong.
Above the rest sits a lone Mallory.
But for the rest, words and eyes, do their mistress wrong.

How fair your father, how fair your milkman!
Adept with inked paper and with harnessed electron!

And lo, that your visage once again, these poor orbs grace.
How the contrary of mockery, what a balm to gaze upon your face.

That said, though chagrinned, I disagree with thee
Silly? Awkward? Mayhap... Just yourself, be content--- To be.
Still as fair as ever you were, though foul yourself declare.
What a sparkle in your eyes, how betrayed by shadows' poor fare.

O dolor's look, how bereft of flare, of flash, of light
Cast into shadow, ever forward, ever onward that sight.
Passport shot? Boring date? Looking away from a rain-battered window?
Or but daring your audience to disappreciate the show?

In all technicolor--- now, behold, the final blow. From amazement, I almost cry.
Lid your gaze lest your shimmering soul sear your poor audience? Your eyes from the flare, do they shy?
Yet still, in all your stark, keen, quiet brilliance, so you shine---
---A lady of face and faculty, beauty and book, few else so fine.

Oh, I like you.
Aye, there is a Mallory 'pon my shelves. Dante and Spenser too, though the former hides ashamèd (undeservedly) of his battered garments - as though they change the elegance and imagined worlds of splendour within! - and leaves stainèd with age. And if you, most noble and gracious lady, do rest your eyes again 'pon Mallory's strident hues of scarlet you shall see, perchance, his companions - Chaucer; garbed modestly in blue and claret to the right, and to the left: why the most redoubtable Langland enpurfled in monkly brown. And surely that colour is most fitting, for his companions are the mystery plays of old.
These most known giants, mountainous in their reputation stand high above their other companions; I think it most arrogant of them, for do they not know of the wit of Dunbar? He whose words strike, as a hunting hawk, deep into the inflated attitude of the courts of the Scots. Do they gaze 'pon the shy poet of the Pearl manuscript and say "Thou! he who hides in the shadows - a puling mouse under the gaze of the pards true grace - there is no space here for thee?" I shudder to think this is true, so I do not! for 'tis our own imaginings that we might direct as a barque under the moon's soft light.
Though, indeed, 'tis understandable that all these great men - and women whom I have yet to mention - lack the knowing of the bards of old; those whose sonorant tones echo no more down the ages, dormant in death as they are. Alas for Beowulf, alas for the Junius Manuscript, alas for the riddles of Exeter and the lamentations of the people of old!
Though, fate and Fortune she of the ever-turning wheel has blessed them once more. For do they not rise anon into the light of scholars and readers new? Do their words not sound again in halls of learning and entertainment?

As for Milton? He rests peacefully by the fireplace in the drawing room. And Shakespeare, why this Atlas of an author verily holds aloft the entire lot upon his willing shoulders! Jane Austen, she rests in the shade, remarking upon the posturings of the men as she holds tea with Antigone and Sophocles and Plato, Euripedes, Homer, Keats and Virgil. Far more elegant a discourse is held there; and if one gazes into the tree who so happily gifts its shade to others one might catch a glance of the elusive fellows of Sherwood, or the spritely inhabitants of Never-never Land.

Far off, in the ruins, as is fitting for them, duel the playwrights of revenge; their discourse is most unfitting for the innocent - murder, werewolves, madness, love, insanity, conspiracy and treachery! Ah me! - are we not glad that these bloody ones, with minds so full of the darkness of humanity do allow others their own space. Though note how the inquisitive eyes of Dickens, of Stoker and of Shelley and Byron do stray there with a glance as furtive as that of a startled deer minding her young.

Yet I know that this humble collection does yearn to reunite with their fellows for, sadly, they are scattered throughout this humble dwelling, making peace where they must to reside with those who jar their sense and cause strife. Mayhap, one day, when Jove blesses us with luck and fair tides, all these compatriots and yet more can meet anew and live together in tumultuous harmony on one wall.
One very, very, very, very large wall.

Also, a slight photography tip: if you've got a real camera, casing and all (i.e. not a phone with a camera in it), you can usually get better pictures of yourself if you put it on a surface and use the self-timer, especially if you can combine it with sequence photograpy (i.e. making the camera take several pictures in rapid sequence). The benefits are that it's easier to get proper lighting while avoiding that brighter surfaces (like your skin) dazzles the camera, and also that you can get full pictures of yourself, and not just what's visible at arm's reach. Just find a surface at the correct height (bookshelves are good for that) and angle the camera toward where you want to stand. http://i.imgur.com/jLvmsd9.png

I struggled long enough just finding where the SDHC card whatsit was! Don't ask me about self-timers and, and, and sequence photography. Those things require programming things into a camera - scary things! :smalleek::smalleek:
And the camera's fairly bulky (Dad uses it to take astronomy pictures) so it would balance on a bookshelf anyway, and there aren't any other surfaces on which to balance it.
And the room's really small so a full length photo is infeasible. And I didn't want to take one.

Indeed. I'm a bit of a post processing afficionado. Hope it helps. Here's some other examples of little post processing tweaks that I play around with...

Please keep in mind none of this is done with photoshop. I'm not bending and twisting features in any way. Just tweaking the lighting and the contrast/saturation/histogram...

Color correction to solve yellowish haze and contrast to make the eyes and lips and hair pop. Slightly more vivid skintone brings out her facial features that may have been lost in the yellow haze.
http://i.imgur.com/0SuSE3w.jpg
Color correction for yellow and brighten it up a tad... Green wall is blue, orange chair is red. Wood furniture is made of wood colored wood. Ooh hey... Didnt notice that poster on the door before!
http://i.imgur.com/Z5brB2o.jpg
Vignette and dynamic range lets us not only see the nice new pad better, but a nice jacket as well! Richer definition on hair, skintone and eyes.
http://i.imgur.com/pDetm3Q.jpg
Color correction for yellow haze (seems to come up a lot) while keeping the actual colors rich. Awesome golden hair and brings out the pattern in the shirt and polish up that leather... Shiney!!! Skin and hair and wall are not the same color! Ooh and a little classy vignetting as well..
http://i.imgur.com/UnyhJ4M.jpg
More of the same. Pulling out that yellow, brighten up the subject, vignette to draw focus, rich saturation for that golden hair and fancy leather. Can now see where the jacket ends and the pants begin, as well as just how high those boots go!
http://i.imgur.com/eV7PfQA.jpg
I'm tellin ya. No end to the yellow... Rich colors... Green shirt turns blue.... Nice skin tone. Better contrast brings out the hair and eyes. Shade background to add depth to the shot.
http://i.imgur.com/7EgcyzJ.jpg
Background shading for depth plus classy vignette, richer skin tone brings out facial features, dynamic range adjustment brings out the texture of that beautiful purple material.

Not much to do here. Contrast up for skin and eyes that pop, black out that top, Rich saturation brings out the red in the hair. Striking facial features!

Vignetting for depth, saturation and contrast for warmer skintone, bring out facial features and nice rich hair.

Classy vignetting to highlight the subject.. Face is no longer in the shadows... And whats this? I had no idea that sweater was so FLUFFY!

Kinda the opposite of some of the other stuff. Background shading for depth, *brighten* that shirt for detail, slightly warmer skin tone. Classy vignette.

Super neat to work with. Atmospheric haze correction makes the trees and red shoots in the background much richer. Full size on this one it even makes his hair more vivid... Warmer skin tone adds depth to his facial features.

Even more fun! Haze correction on the brown grass shoots, dynamic range on the rocks to really bring out their rockiness... and deeper view of whats underneath the water in the pond.

Sunday, no obligations left. What to do? Upload December pictures!

We had a few really foggy days at the beginning of December, which was quite dramatic. Especially this sea of light which formed from the parking lot in front of the Ångström laboratory. http://i.imgur.com/jLvmsd9.png
http://i.imgur.com/0AN5Ct7.jpg
(Sadly, the full glory wouldn't be properly caught on film.)

After the fog came the frost, with these beautiful crystals growing over every moss and straw. http://i.imgur.com/jLvmsd9.png
http://i.imgur.com/X7SvTJW.jpg

The thin crusts of ice took on fantastical shapes...
http://i.imgur.com/fBzQanG.jpg

However slow it ran, moving water wouldn't freeze, though, allowing for creations such as this little island of frozen silver in a sea of green.
http://i.imgur.com/1DRUO4Q.jpg

The water came from this spring down in the local valley, but a kilometre from my house. I really like it, and I really like this contrast between the green waterscape and the frozen overworld. http://i.imgur.com/jLvmsd9.png
http://i.imgur.com/h8iljAR.jpg

A rare sight in the Swedish winter, a glowing orb of gold hanging in the sky. I'm not quite sure what it is, nor do I understand why the heaven is blue. I think there must be great magic involved. http://i.imgur.com/FZ6yI9l.png
http://i.imgur.com/yEus7CM.jpg
I really like how the feathery clouds caught the light... http://i.imgur.com/jLvmsd9.png

Another frost pictures, playing a bit with the focus on my camera... http://i.imgur.com/jLvmsd9.png

Not only do we have a pure spring down in the valley, we have real rune carvings as well! http://i.imgur.com/haudcUB.png

I later counted the length of my own shadow to 23 steps. Assuming a just-shy-of-a-metre step length, that should be at least ten times my own length (I'm 188 cm).

This was also the first time in my life I saw the Northern Light. It was faint, blurry and barely moved, but it was nevertheless a magical sight. http://i.imgur.com/jLvmsd9.png

We built a huge snow fort on the lake. You would hear the ice crack and shatter for all of the following days, but it was thick and cold, so it never broke.

Indeed. I'm a bit of a post processing afficionado. Hope it helps. Here's some other examples of little post processing tweaks that I play around with...
Here we shade the background to add depth to the shot, bring up the contrast on the hair, slight warmness to skintone, polish up that awesome leather. Hair and eyes really pop.
*lots of neat post-processing*

Super neat to work with. Atmospheric haze correction makes the trees and red shoots in the background much richer. Full size on this one it even makes his hair more vivid... Warmer skin tone adds depth to his facial features.

Just tinkering around... I apologize if the tinkering is unwanted. Just seeing what I can dond .

Oh wow, that's some nice work! I was stunned by how much colour you managed to bring out of my pictures, even if the latter might've become a little bit more summery than what's standard for an autumn scene. http://i.imgur.com/ZRHtTJs.png

And no worries on my account. I'll give you carte blanche to post-process any of my pictures. Or at least those without other people in them. No retouching though, please. I don't want "unflattering" details hidden in the name of contemporary beauty ideals (not that I think I'll have to worry about that, but I think it's the best to be clear about where I draw the line http://i.imgur.com/jLvmsd9.png).

Agreed. I'm not into changing how people look. My thing is more of a 'resolving the limitations of a lens or camera' so that pictures look more like what you'd see with you eyes if you were standing there. I'm a huge photography buff, but I'm on a limited budget. With the right amount of work I can coax eos level shots out of my sx50.

I imagine that borealis was amazing to see in a way that the camera has a really hard time capturing effectively.

You don't need to take it so seriously! I just find it weird when people comment on tiny parts of one's body. I mean, I know I have full lips, but it's like why would anyone give a compliment to them, they're just lips that sit on my face. Plus I'm really bothered by any kind of comments about myself anyways, but I gotta learn that sometimes I just need to suck up my insecurities.

Let me give it a go! few moments plz. The trick will be to see if the camera actually caught any of that green or if it saw it so brightly that it thinks they're white anyway... It did catch curlykitgirls purple hair tint but that was more of too dark than too light...

Sadly seems to be the case... I've tried a few variations... This one is probably the best result.
In this case the stones are so bright they cast a halo of darkness on the leather behind them...
http://i.imgur.com/Vxl1c0j.jpg
Even when I go ludicrously dark looking for color data it still comes back 'I think these stones are white'...
http://i.imgur.com/A8Q1ZpQ.jpg
Even searching at the hillariously dirty bleeding edge of dynamic range, a whole lotta white and gray with just a tinge of green on the edges... This trick tells me if I could get any color back by turning the contrast down...
The only reason we know the stones are green in this case is because they're casting green reflective light onto the leather. Especially the stone on the top left.
http://i.imgur.com/HfLAjbF.jpg
Sadly post processing does have some limitations, heheheh.
Sound mixers when dealing with audio tracks refer to this phenominon as 'clipping' where an entire range of sound exceeds the limitations of the sweep, destroying the curve and 'clipping it at a hard limit'...
In this case the curve is the wave of light hitting the sensor. The camera asks the sensor 'what color was that front stone?' and the sensor said 'oh God my eyes! it was like staring at the suuuun!'

The good news is, according to your camera, those front stones are made up of angels.

Gives a whole new meaning to 'precious stones'... Wah wah... Thats right... I went there.

I'm actually trying to figure out what/who to go as for a Superhero themed Halloween party towards the end of the year (good to think about costumes early  ) or for PAX Australia when it rolls around. If anyone has suggestions, please say so. I need ideas!!

So cool! I wish I had time and people to LARP with. It looks so awesome. And how about Madeline the Paladin? It's not a classic DC/Marvel superhero, but she's pretty awesome and her powers and combat skills rival anything that DC and Marvel keep pumping out.

http://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/rustyandco_spintodeflect.jpg

Also, Spinnerette and Mecha Maid are pretty cool. And honestly, her spider powers make more sense than Spider-Man's do.

Let's see, I'll play fast and loose with the term "superhero":

Jubilee
Samus Aran
Sin(thia Schmidt)
Captain Marvel
Lady Deathstrike
Talia al Ghul
The Silhouette (Watchmen)
Sif
Frigga
Ezra (Fairy Tail)
Burka Avenger (http://youtu.be/XahbqLdCVhE) (my personal favorite)

Also, great LARP shots!

*Grins*
Thankyou ^^

I know a few of those, though not all. Sif or Frigga would be very cool, though don't know that I'd have time to make/get the required armour/dress. Silhouette there is no way I have the figure for ;)

*Laughs* Madeline is actually really quite cute. And I've been thinking of going redhead...

Spinnerette also looks very awesome, though I've seen how much work a friend had to go through to make an eight legged costume like that, I don't think I have the patience!

Some of the ones on my list have been:
Black Knight (I've got a shield lying around, painting it black with a starburst would not be hard)
Gambit (because he's awesome)
Dr Strange (could really easily re-use the outfit for LARP)
Magneto (really, once you have the helmet the rest is easy)
Bishop (probably not really 'built' enough for, but wouldn't be too hard and I'd need a bigger gun)
Oliver Queen (from Arrow)
The newly unveiled Super Girl (http://variety.com/2015/tv/news/supergirl-costume-revealed-photos-melissa-benoist-cbs-1201447987/) if I could manage the figure for *that* one

So many ideas, it's just really hard to know what I could pull off

Oh! all of you poor single men,
Don’t ever give up in despair,
For there’s always a chance while there’s life
To capture the hearts of the fair,
No matter what may be your age,
You always may cut a fine dash,
You will suit all the girls to a hair
If you’ve only got a moustache,
A moustache, a moustache,
If you’ve only got a moustache.

I don't actually own a wristwatch, or at least not a working one. I have occasionally considered replacing my last one, but something else has always taken priority.

And there's no way in a month of Sundays I'm putting gaffer tape on my wrist, if nothing else because it would hurt like hell. Besides, dressing like the contents of a hardware store rather defeats the object of wearing a waistcoat in the first place, which is at least to an extent to look smart...

Fake pockets are the dumbest invention ever.

Sewn up pockets, as mentioned by Serps in the previous comment, are even dumber, surely? Somebody actually went to all the trouble of attaching a real pocket to an item of clothing, and then made sure nobody could use said pocket.

Aren't the pockets sewn up to prevent damage during transit and so that they don't lose any shape or whatever whilst on display in the retailer of your choice? That's why pockets that have been sewn shut look like they've been sewn shut badly - you're supposed to cut it loose once you've bought it. :smallconfused:

This, I think:

That's why pockets that have been sewn shut look like they've been sewn shut badly - you're supposed to cut it loose once you've bought it. :smallconfused:

... except I've never heard any reason for it before, but this makes sense. Unsewn pockets may hang open a little, which doesn't look as elegant, so I guess that could be the line of thought behind it. And I think (because I had to translate the term from Swedish) the term is "untack". You untack the pockets. And you only need to put a knife or a scissor or one-of-those-untacking-appliances-I-can't-find-the-name-for to make it useable, after that you have a fully functional pocket, unlike the fake pockets which remain as fake as ever. http://i.imgur.com/ZRHtTJs.png

An unpicker. I sew sometimes.

I haven't had fake pockets before, but they sound rather irritating.
I have a couple of pouches and belts, which I suppose would be rather useful for garments lacking in the pocket department. My friend used to sew pockets into her skirts so she didn't have to carry around things or a handbag.

Pockets are incredibly useful, although I sometimes still find myself thinking I need a bag. It's fine when I have a briefcase or the like with me but that's not always appropriate. The main problems I find with items in pockets are that they bulge in an unsightly manner, and/or pull the clothes out of shape. Especially when carrying an uneven number of items or accessories I notice my jacket pulling slightly uncomfortably to one side.

I suppose tailored clothes would be designed to accommodate that sort of thing, though. At least, I'd hope so.

Haha, her fake photo-smile. The youngest has developed her own photo-face (because she copies everything her sister does); hers is this funny looking squint and grin.

She's not the naughty one; aside from some sassy back-chat, she's a well-behaved child. It's her younger sister who's a little engine of wanton destruction. And lately, queen of "no".

Alsoooo IDK if it's forum appropriate but my Lobo shots involve me flipping the bird? Warning, and all that)

@Serp: While I knew that people aren't perfectly symmetrical, it does surprise me how much the difference is noticeable in those mirroring pictures. In particular, I knew that some proportions would be different, but the yous on the right are more smiley, where the yous on the left are kind of :| - which I wouldn't have expected to be such a noticeable distinction. One side of your face is happier than the other.

Me too (especially the nose - so bulbous on the left). Apparently my right is my good side.
Yeah, it was pretty good. Had so much food at my fancy high tea, still have left-overs.

I think you might've turned your head slightly leftward for those pictures. That would make the nose look bigger, but the wings less pronounced, as is the case in these pictures.

For people like me who have an angular smile, I'm not the sligthest surprised.

Also, all those people and pics and great and stuff, too tired to comment...

I'm back from a two week stay at our ancestral farm. I don't really have a lot of pictures from there, but in the midst of it, we conducted a three days trip to the mountains for some backpacking.

In the first day, we walked from there...
http://i.imgur.com/PZXwOWg.jpg?1
http://i.imgur.com/FFLjl6d.jpg?1

... to there...
http://i.imgur.com/EvC9Ivy.jpg?1
http://i.imgur.com/mlm13Zn.jpg?1
... and in the last day we took the same way back.
(All pictures taken from the same place)

In the second day, we walked from there, those slightly off centre grey stripes down in the valley, beyond the stream (1040 metres above sea level)...
http://i.imgur.com/ZmWnY7b.jpg?1

... to there, the highest top (1762 metres above sea level) of a group of mountains called "Sylarna". It's the leftmost side of the flat-looking double top in the middle of the picture.
http://i.imgur.com/7b7rKK1.jpg?1
(Each picture taken from the other place.)

Here's me sitting on the top cairn.
http://i.imgur.com/bNuhVb4.jpg?1

On the way down, I figured out that you could slide down the snow fields at immense speed, thus saving a lot of gruesome climbing and having an amazing amount of fun on top. Here you can see the final parts of my path as the two rightward diagonals in the middle of the picture connected by a leftward diagonal trail. Most of this slope was traversed sitting, but on the section you can barely see higher up on my trail, I actually slided on my stomach.
http://i.imgur.com/oEvNwL4.jpg?1

On the second snow field, I figured that the most fun course of action was to just slide all the way down on my stomach like a seal. You can't quite appreciate the height here, but it was almost as high as in the first picture, although not as steep in the beginning.

And here we've started walking. And as you probably notice, it's even colder up there, mostly falling in the range I would expect of mid spring.

The sun wasn't actually particulary bright or frequent that day, but I had a sensitive cornea and needed to protect my eye from the wind. Plus, polarised lenses makes it easier to look beneath the surface of any water you may come across.

In the second day, my eye was good again, but there was both sun and snow now, so now they could serve their intended purpose.

Teddy: were you cutting grass with a scythe?! Aaaaa neat! Also what happened to your parents?

Not this year, no. That's a rake. We got a local with a tractor to cut all the fields surrounding the house, so there wasn't a lot to put a scythe to this time.

And they tried downhill bicycling, and went a little too fast or a little to long for their ability, so now mum's got a fractured arm and dad a broken rib and collar bone. They're healing though, so they're a lot more mobile now than then, even though you can see that especially mum is in quite a lot of pain from time to time...

I've been struggling with some self esteem stuff lately, so I started to edit my photos on my phone and as I was taking selfies I just thought "damn, I'm beautiful, and no one can tell me otherwise. Damn."

It's not really a great costume, but I just happened to notice that my hair was about the same style and color as 80s-era Mark Hamill, and that I really should do a Star Wars cosplay this close to Episode VII, so I went with it. I added freeform white lines with heavy blue glow in MS Powerpoint for the Force Lightning here.

This thread is all but dead. Originally created all the way back in 2013, the last post was almost 60 days ago, and none of the threads have had an index of photos for a while.

I'm going to revive it, but the revive is temporary. Please use this time to discuss amongst yourselves if anyone is willing to create and maintain an index of photos in the first post. I suggest whoever creates it, start with indexing only photos posted in the new thread (or old ones which someone requests to be added in the new thread). You may assume that any photos posted in the new thread can be added to the index unless the poster specifically opts out (write that into the first post).

Looking back, the most ''recent'' index is from 2008.

I think if somebody had the animo for doing that, they would've done it in the past six years.

It was a good run, I had fun putting faces to the profiles and seeing pictures of everybody's adventures and meet-ups.

Let it die naturally, is my opinion.

I think if somebody had the animo for doing that, they would've done it in the past six years.

Which is one of the main reasons I suggested starting afresh (the other being that photo posters hadn't expected them being added to an index and had a chance to opt-out).

Well, this thread series will never completely die. If no one wants to start a new index, someone at some point will want to post pictures again in the future (it's actually why I cast thread necromancy, someone was going to post photos but it was already too old), and the then currently active thread will either resurrect or start anew.

Until there's a new thread, people can still post pictures in this thread, of course. It's just that, when someone is willing, the new thread should be created with an index (ignore current page count).

I dunno, I think on the internet where there's a mild anonymity since all there is to someone on a site like this is a username, I think it's kind of novel to see what other people's faces look like when it's not explicitly known.

Also, I like how your avvy marches your face Fin.

FinnLassie

Yeah. I like to share a really minimal amount of information about the ~real Finn~, and I've found this thread fun to share my derpy face and also look at others' derpy faces as apart from IRL friends on the forum, I don't go my way and try to find other forumites on other social media platforms. It's also a handy way to stalk the people you might end up seeing in a meet up, though there's a charm of not knowing what anyone looks like at all as well. :smalltongue:

And thank you, TechnOkami. I like to depict myself as a halfling for some reason... I'm not even tiny at all IRL (167cm-ish).

Dunno, my current avvy is my best depiction of what my idea of "TechnOkami" is, mainly being an electronica wolf god of sorts.

I'd probably just depict me as me, complete with greek fisherman's hat, pony tail, shorts, boots/sandals, and sweatshirt. Maybe a duster or a messenger's bag.

Why "should" it be created with an index? Given that we haven't had an index for eight years, and more than half the threads, and it doesn't seem most people really miss it, I'm not sure what the merit is in restoring one. Especially since it's the sort of thing that might not only make people reluctant to post photos in the first place, but also burdens someone with the responsibility of maintaining it. Given the frequency with which photos simply disappear once they're a couple of months, even weeks, old, too, it's likely that even an index updated regularly with fresh photos would still be largely full of dud links.

it's the sort of thing that might not only make people reluctant to post photos

Anyone can opt-out of having a photo included in the index at the time of posting, or request its removal at a later date if they change their mind.

*rises from busy grave*

Well now I feel a little silly posting a picture of myself. Kinda scared I might be the last one to post in the end. :smalltongue:

According to one of my friends, I have transformed from Yang Xiao Long into Filthy Frank. Now I can't unsee that.

It has been roughly a metric eternity since Hazyshade last posted on the forums, but he appears in these photos also. He's the tall one getting married, I'm the other bearded one wearing almost exactly the same suit. Photos are not all in chronological order.
