Some friends and I are attempting to figure out how to start/find funding for a gaming convention for Northern Indiana and surrounding areas within a ~3 hour driving distance. We're hoping to have games like Pathfinder, D&D, Magic the Gathering, maybe some LARPs, board games, etc. The trouble we are running into is that of finding sponsors/funds. Does anyone have experience in this area or any suggestions? Right now we have a Kickstarter site, but we've kind of hit a stale spot. We can only bombard our Facebook feeds so much. Are there any places on the web that are good for posting that sort of thing that would receive good visibility and support? I'll post the link below. (If you guys want to make a donation we'll love you forever!) But also, if there are suggestions lemme' know. Thanks!!

Kickstarter is a great start, but have you considered advertising for your kickstarter?

This very website allows you to pay for ad space in their banners and such, and their prices are pretty good. Here (https://www.projectwonderful.com/advertisehere.php?id=58282&type=5) is all the info you need.

Also, post updates to your project on Twitter. Facebook is good for sharing information with people you already know, but it's not the most effective social networking site. So if you've run out of people you know, you need to find more people. Twitter is a free way to do that. Also, if you're trying to target people in your hometown specifically, then you can always try Craigslist. Getting the word out about your kickstarter is cheap to free, depending on how much traffic you want to pay for.

Last but not least. You can always bump your Facebook page. It doesn't cost very much to do so and it'll make you a hot search item.

Good luck!
