thrust into the FUTURE!!!

Hey guys, i'm playing a 3.5 campaign atm. Playing an Artificer 5/Alchemist savant 5/Master Alchemist 4. Its in a standard medieval setting, and i'm looking to thrust the world into the "modern" world. some ideas i had are,
-modern Hospitals (ie, antiseptics, etc)
-mass media (newspapers, etc)
-Defense Contracts (DMG II Spell Turrets, Spell traps)
-Factories (Fabricate spell trap, turn iron into sword, sell sword at slightly below average price in bulk)
-rail system (House Orien railways in Eberron Books)

Does anyone have any logistical advice or other ideas to make this happen? Please and thank you!!!

Wait, do you mean you're playing that class and you're the DM too? Or that your character's goal is to invent modern technology analogues using magic?
