Any good programs out there to help a DM make a good map, world map rather then dungeon. Since my hand drawn ones or ones made with Paint aren't always the nicest.

Would be nice if:
Program free/has demo to try before buy and reasonable price
Hex based grid.

I'm sure there are some out there but then again maybe everyone isn't as bad at drawing as me

I've always preferred to use Sock or Shirt when I make my world maps. Sorry, couldn't resist.

Have you tried Hexographer? There's a free version that offers probably as much functionality as you would ever need.

This is what you're looking for.

Right?

Beyond that? No idea, personally "hex graphing" isn't appealing to me so if you dig something up let me know.

Rather than creating a new thread, I figured I may as well ask here.

Is there a world generator for "normal" grid squares?

I don't know how helpful this is, because it's a paid program, and a little on the pricey side, but if you're looking for something that's detailed and official looking, campaign cartographer is a great option. I got it as a gift a couple of years ago, and though it takes a little figuring out, the results are well worth the effort.
