Which are your great expectations about the times you are living in?
I mean what do want to see before you die, that would make you feel a sense of fulfillment, a sense of "it was worth living in these times?".
Please let political expectations and anything against forum rules out.

For me:

- the incontrovertible proof of extra-terrestrial life, even better extra-terrestrial intelligent life or civilization
- the birth of the first artificial intelligence, or conscience
- first human colonization of space: Life on Mars!
- a huge archeological discovery, something like "Tablets of the memories of the real Gilgamesh" or "Tomb of Gengis Khan"
- the reconstruction of the 7 ancient wonders
- a real fourth Indiana Jones movie before Harrison Ford leave the scene

on the sci-fi side:
- time travel
- teleportation
- aliens arriving on planet Earth (the goodhearted enlightened kind)
- a real fourth Indiana Jones movie before Harrison Ford leave the scene

George R. R. Martin ending, at last, the saga of "A Song of Ice and Fire".
