So in a campaign I'm hopping into(offsite) I decided to play a Pathfinder Bard. After reading the Dirge Bard archetype, I decided the idea of having a skeleton band is just too funny to not try.

Aside from taking the Dirge Bard archetype, what's the best way for me to go about doing this? Optimization is a secondary concern over fulfilling the build idea, typically so long as I'm not underpowered into uselessness, I'll manage.

Convince your DM that musical accompaniment is a vital part of operating a ship (http://onepiece.wikia.com/wiki/Brook), and then grab Skeleton Crew (http://www.d20pfsrd.com/magic/all-spells/s/skeleton-crew) using Secrets of the Grave.

Alright, if we get a ship, this is DEFINITELY on my "to get" spell list. Especially since Dirge Bards can grab Necromancy spells off other class's spell lists.

You can also use illusion spells to do to make your skeletal backup group, but that's sort of cheating.

Yeah, definitely a last resort, or if I need some back-up dancers(Major Image might be a good start till I get a better illusion)

You can have your Illusionary Band with Exquisite Accompaniment (http://www.d20pfsrd.com/magic/all-spells/e/exquisite-accompaniment).

(though, that's a spell I really like better for Archeologists because then I get the "Archaeologist's Luck" bonus for having my theme song playing.)

Dang. Just a "Right in the childhood" reaction to the muppets song.

I think Curse of Monkey Island is all you'll need to prove that pirate crews require musical accompaniment.
