Idea for How to write a story

So I have had an idea for writing a story for a while. It's d20 modern with magic and a roughly imperial era setting but modern weapons. Anachronism is the name of the game guys! But the reason I bring it up is, does anyone on the forums have experience with writing stories but using RPG characters and dice to determine outcomes? What I mean is, using the game mechanics and die rolls as a story writing tool. I'd be curious if there are any good threads/forums/blogs that discuss anything like this.

The Mythic GM Emulator (http://www.mythic.wordpr.com/page14/page9/page9.html)'s solo rules sounds perfect for what you want to do. You can find all you need for free (including some extra tools for solo roleplaying) at RPGSolo (http://www.rpgsolo.com/), but I still recommend getting/reading the book (as well as its supplement Mythic Variations (http://www.mythic.wordpr.com/page14/page11/page11.html)) as they do a much better job at explaining the concepts behind how the system works than the website does.
