View Full Version : [3.x] It's not easy being green

Hey all,

I'm looking for a list of green-skinned humanoid creatures of size M or L. By humanoid I don't mean the creature type Humanoid, any creature with a humanoid shape (two arms, two legs etc.). It doesn't really matter if it is a Humanoid, Monstrous Humanoid, Giant, Fey, Outsider etc.

It's for an in-game gag I will be using when I DM.

The more "human-looking" the creature is, the better. For purposes of the gag, a creature with decent Int and/or Cha scores would work best.

Cheers - T

The various Hags should work great for this.

A lot of these depend on the artist. Goblinoids (except, curiously, Hobgoblins) and Orcs are often drawn greenish, even if canonically they are a different color.

Killoren (Races of the Wild, pp. 102-106) are generally green, I believe.

Anything with a hat of disguise?

Lizardfolk maybe? By that token, any dragon derived race might be ok.

Trolls are green, so I suppose being troll blooded might work.

1/2 troll mongrel folk...
Anything that wakes up with a hang over, looks over, and sees the smiling face of a happy 1/2 troll mongrel folk...

As I recall, Hellbred can have green, scaly skin. But I may be mistaken.

Also, an earth elemental may be green. If it's covered in moss.

I'm guessing your players are of sufficient level so that alter self/polymorph/whatever illusions won't fool them?

Githyanki/Githzerai can tend towards shades of green, iirc.

Tieflings. Aasimar too, if they have Planetar blood.

Draconic Human or anything (+2 to STR, CON and CHA), if the dragon ancestor was a green dragon. What's the gag supposed to be?

Volodni are basically plant people. So a mix of green and wood: +2 Con, +2 Wis, -2 Int, -2 Cha, Medium, 30 ft, Plant type, half damage from piercing weapons, other minor benefits. +2 LA. Unapproachable East pg 81.

The weird thing is that green slaadi are lanky, thin casters. Reds and blues are the big ones.

Woodling on anything.

Vishkanya are green, and can look very human from far away. Up close the scales and tongue are more noticeable.

Speaking of Kermit, Grippli are green humanoids :smalltongue:

Yuan-ti should work as well, particularly purebloods if you're going for a more humanoid appearance, but halfblood works too. Storm giants are huge, and nixies are small, but both fit the bill otherwise. Kuo-toa are often depicted as green.

Spellscales can be any color, though the book only has artwork of blue-ish, red-ish, and purple-ish ones for some reason.

Needlefolk haven't been mentioned yet, although they're not especially humanlike.

Really, I'd say that killoren and volodni are probably the best suggestions so far.

They would be perfect, but I'm not using Pathfinder material unfortunately.

Leaning towards Kiloren at the moment.
