My GM is planning an undead-heavy Halloween campaign. We are playing 5th-level characters, with a 30 points for abilities. Anything on http://www.d20pfsrd.com/ is fair game.

I have thought of playing an Inquisitor (I have never played one and would like to try it) who is a demon hunter. By including this in his background, I am sure the GM will add demons to the formula. Although, I'm sure it will still mostly be undead.

With that in mind, I have wondered if I should dip into Ranger for one level, in order to get a favored enemy?

Are there any other routes that would also help in become a skilled demon hunter (with undead smacking abilities)?

Starting at level 5...do you know if you are going to be _staying_ at level 5? Or is there 'level up' potential?

Level 5 is when an Inquisitor gets Bane and a good number of their Judgements get a +1 boost. This is also a level where they lose a Bab.

In an Undead Heavy campaign, I think dipping Ranger for Favored Enemy (and +1 Bab) would be the better option overall, as Bane is very limited in Rounds.

There's also the option to dip Cleric for 1 level, and nab Channeling Scourge (http://www.d20pfsrd.com/feats/general-feats/channeling-scourge), although in this case, you may be better off just going straight Cleric.
