I'm in the midst of creating a back up 10 lvl character for a on going game. I'm making Human Duskblade and have followed the recommended feats - power attack, knowledge devotion, arcane stike and arcane disciple.

My question here (since I haven't found that it couldn't feasibly work RAW) can I use a two handed weapon and an animated shield together?

Yes, just be aware that your "Armored Mage" ability only applies to light shields (until you hit Duskblade 7). If you go heavy, you can drop the ASF to zero via mithral, feycraft, githcraft, or the twilight property.

If you want an Extreme Shield, a Mithral Twilight Hellforged Animated Extreme Shield +1 has zero ASF and ACP = 0, so there's no penalty for using it without Exotic Shield Proficiency.
