In the group I DM for there is only one Players Handbook at the table(mine). So I tried to find a rather basic rule summary on the internet to help the game move smoother but all the ones I could find were about 10 pages. So I wondering if there are any 1-2 page summaries out there.

Thanks in Advance:smile:

The best rule summary out there, in my humble opinion, is the Players Handbook. It has all a player needs to play the game. (For every 2 players there usually should be 1 PHB)

To keep the game moving along I try my best to memorize most of the rules to avoid looking them up or I mark the page for reference for quick look ups.

Thou what you are asking is highly doubtful due to some copyrighted material in the PHB (I think).

I think the best thing to do, if you have a lot of newbies in the group, would be to have a "Introduction" session and give a summary yourself. Then, as people make their characters, you could work with them individually and write down things that'd be relevent to them (or have them write it down themselves -- taking notes helps with memory!) so that they'll have something to reference.
Players could still borrow the PHB to look into more advanced rules, but they wouldn't all need one at the same time to know how their own class features worked.

People do get the hang of it by playing, in my experience. Just work with 'em. :smallwink:

um.. That is great and all but the whole reason I need the rule summary is because I nor my players have the money to buy a PH.

(as side not if I DID have the money that is what I would do but alas it is not so)

If you (and your players) have internet access, the SRD (http://www.d20srd.org/index.htm) has the core rules and basic psionic rules. You could either use it or create a summary from it.

Wow, I didn't know that existed. Just, wow... :smalleek:

You need a summary? Okay, basically:

Roll a d20. Add relevant modifiers. If it beats a set number, that is Good.

Sometimes they mix it up with opposed checks and stuff, but that is basically it. Skill checks, saves, attack rolls, whatever.

Funny how many people don't know about the SRD. You can also check out the D20 OGL page, where you can download the same rules as Word Documents.

The hyperlinked SRD mentioned above is possibly the best "quick reference" for D&D rules out there, if only because everything is cross-referenced. You still need books, since it only covers OGC materials and not things like character creation, copyrighted monsters, DMing tips, or splatbooks if you use them, but it's great for looking up, say, the rules of a particular spell, or a "stock" monster's attack bonus.

That actually requires registration to the site. (http://www.d20srd.org/subscribe.htm) (Unless you are talking about something else. :smallconfused: )
