GUFIPOLICE STATION

Inside the building there are many people at various desks. They all have something in common, a badge. This badge certifies that they are members of a squad developed and devoted to doing just one thing, stopping crime. They are the GUFIPOLICE.

As you walk into the [Foyer] you can see a large doorway on the right in what you're sure is an outside wall. Looking through it you can see a set of metal stairs leading down to some more cells. A sign above the doorway says

I will update this as often as I can, but please remember that it may not be current.

The Rules:
If the police get evidence on a crime, and are able to track down the criminal, then we arrest him. The suspect will be in jail for a period of time according to the crime, after which the criminal will be released back into town. Due to rights for a speedy trial, the criminal will be held at max for 48 hours in the station if we can't settle it in court.

If the a criminal makes a successful hit, they will PM the person attacked with evidence. The person hit will only be able to tell us of the evidence. Outright attacks will lead to outright arrests.

To Report A Crime
GUFIPOLICE members will be identified by a badge in their signature. Anyone posting information in the station without a badge will be considered giving us a 'tip', but if the evidence is not collected by the GUFIPOLICE, it can not be submitted as evidence. Please LINK to the thread where the crime was committed. We play this as real time, so if we enter the building after the crime, all we can do is collect evidence/statements to prove the crime. If we are in the building while the crime is happening, that officer may make an arrest on the spot. If a crime happens, and there is no officer around, then the police don't know (although we may read OOC) that a crime happened.

To Kill An Officer
Also, to murder a member of the police (since we can make arrests on the spot) we agree to abide by the following rules for kills. Normal murders would be the evidence searching thing, but hits on police officers would be different.

1 hit: Arrested
2 hits: Both arrested
3 hits: Police choose one person to arrest, the organization the suspect belongs to (mafia/troupe/temple/horde/gang who decided to group together to make a police kill) members choose another one to be arrested by the police
4 hits: Police choose one person to arrest
5 hits: Organization choose one person to be taken by the police
6 hits: Everyone involved in the attack goes free
10+ hits: every goes free, 3 (Organization chooses who) of the participants cannot be arrested for the next crime they commit.

This must be hits in a row, if a random poster pops in and interrupts the hit, it stops the attack. Also one person = one hit, so for 3+ hits to happen, 3 different members have to attack. The officer being attacked will not have the option to interupt the hits, but may identify the people attacking them to another arresting officer.

To Become An Officer
To join the GUFIPOLICE force, either find the Captain or a Detective (see below) to swear you in. A police officer will receive weekly pay of 100gp, weapons (of your choice), weapon repair, and riot gear, a desk at the station, and room and board in the station barracks should they want to.
Senior Officers receive no pay increase, but have authority over other officers (within reason). Sergeants receive 125gp/week, have authority over Officers and Senior Officers, and can deputize citizens during an arrest, while Detectives in the force receive pay of 150gp each week, have authority over the lower ranks, may deputize citizens and swear in new officers, and handle police station political matters should the captain be off duty.

Internal Discipline
Officers who are discovered to be neglectful or willfully derelict in their duty will be subject to disciplinary action on a three-strikes system. Infractions last for 1 month, and on officer who commits three infractions within a month will have his badge taken away, his powers as an officer revoked, and be asked to leave the force.

Fairies Godric, Ravina, Krista, and Feorwyn are about the station to help take statements, open cells to release prisoners after time is served, and make fresh pots of coffee for waiting persons. Please use as you feel necessary. Godric -he has a superiority attitude, Ravina -she only to happy to help and will give you flowers, Feorwyn - She is pretty darn surly for a lady, and Krista -she just wants to get the work done and is always running around hecticly.

All cells in the station and the cell block are made of reinforced adamantine and enchanted to block all use of magic and psionics inside them.

Hawk seems to materialize in the station, the unconscious Rex slung over his shoulder. He takes care of the formalities with one of the fairies, placing the dead-to-the-world man in an empty cell, but not before making sure he wasn't aflame. Just as quickly as he enters, he exits.

Hawk reappears in the station, only this time carrying Aerin in tow. He lets her down onto her feet as the yellow glow fades away.

Thank you. Aerin yawns and walks into Iames's office.

[Nevrmore]

He nods, deciding to retire for the night. He travels to the barracks, says his goodbyes to whoever might be listening, and falls into slumber.

Aerin goes through the portal.

[Nevrmore]

Hawk comes out from the barracks, streteching. He goes to look at the man they resurrected last night; He was still asleep. Hawk donned his usual attire and stepped out.

The man looks around warily after Hawk leaves, then jumps to his feet and runs towards up to the main floor. Krysta is about to ask him whats wrong when he bolts out the door.

Aerin and Iames come out of the portal in Iames's office.

Hawk steps into the station, "Thanks for the offer, but it doesn't appeal to me. You know what they say, the highest advanced machinery is indistinguishable from magic or something like that."

He rounds the corner, heading for the resurrected body.

"Anyway, I'm going to see if this guy's awake to-" He stops, looking around. Where there was once a body is now an empty bed. "Where the hell did it go?!"

[Rebonack]

"A do it on your own attitude," Regiji grins. "That's something I can respect. Not really something I can hope to emulate but I can certainly respect it."

Regiji blinks at Hawk's sudden outburst.

"I take it you mean the guy who got his head exploded? He took off into the forest, I figured he had been questioned and released. I tailed him for a bit, but lost my bead on him."

[Nevrmore]

Hawk thinks he can feel his heartbeat in his eyelid.

"Son of a bitch..." He manages through clenched teeth. "He's long gone by now."

[Lord Iames Osari]

Iames winces at the stack of paperwork, then remembers he can have an avatar do it. An avatar of Iames appears in the chair behind the desk and starts to do the paperwork.

Hearing the voices outside the office, he goes out into the main area. What's happened?

Aerin follows Iames out of the office.

[Nevrmore]

Hawk looks to Iames, "That guy you resurrected last night, the one who was a body sans head? Yeah, he must have woken up and flown coop. Regiji says he saw him running through the forest." He says, rubbing his temples.

[Rebonack]

"In all likelihood he's already 'ported back to the fortress he and his buddies keep staging their raids from," Regiji adds. "I doubt we'll be seeing him again."

Iames sighs. That's unfortunate.

Alena hesitantly walks into the police station, she looks around curiously.

[Nevrmore]

Hawk sighs, "There goes another lead." He grinds his teeth enough to turn them into diamonds.

[Rebonack]

"Well, the antics of the shadowy military organization aside, I had come here to ask about lending a hand with the upkeep of the peace around Town," Regiji pauses for a moment, trying to decide how best to word this. "I'm not exactly allowed to join the force because of the position I hold in my family, but I would still like to help. Do you guys have a citizen's patrol or something?"

Alena steps a bit further in, Hello?

Hawk turns to Alena. "...Hello."

Alena looks down, I apologize for interrupting. I was just looking around Town. She flicks her wings back and holds them tightly against her back.

Hawk nods, "Be careful, then. We've reports of..." He wodners if he should tell her about the brain-eating parasite that is gruesomely killing people and using their bodies as meat puppets, "...violence going around lately."

Oh, what should I watch out for? as she shyly keeps her eyes on the floor.

[Nevrmore]

Damn.

"Well, there was an attack on the temple of Inari the other day, plus an attack on Kenyon's gunnery shop just last night, plus all that random violence in Trog's Tavern...and if you see anybody who looks...off, just be wary."

[Kenyon]

Rex regains conciousness, and looks around. He quickly realizes that he's in a cell in the Police Station, and sighs in frustration, rubbing his now-bald head.

Hawk glances at Rex with disdain.

[Kenyon]

Rex glares at Hawk. "What're you lookin' at, Pork Pie?"

Okay, thank you. I'll watch for anyone who feels off. I'd best be going, Thank you again for your time.

[Nevrmore]

"Someone whose eloquence compares unfavorably to a dying orangutan." He says, not turning to look at Rex.

[Rebonack]

"An idiot who got himself incarcerated, I should suspect," Regiji quips. He turns his attention to Alena. "Don't worry too much, I doubt anyone would want to bother a beautiful heavenly messenger like you. Besides, after seeing you in action back at the fortress I think you can take care of yourself."

[Kenyon]

Rex scoffs. "You pigs won't be all high 'n mighty in a few days..."

[wxdruid]

She looks confused at Hawk's remark.

I'll watch out, I have some ability, but.. I don't know how well it works here with so many different people. I..I really must be going. Thank you so much for your time. Alena turns and almost runs, but instead walks quickly out of the station.

Hawk turns and walks up to Rex's cell, only the steel bars separating them.

"Oh? Are you confessing to conspiring a crime?"

Well... I don't think we ever have before. I'll have to think.

[Rebonack]

Regiji waves to the angel as she leaves, then turns his attention back to the man in the cell. This should be interesting at least.

"Eeer, thanks for that consideration, Iames."

He inclines his head toward Hawk.

"He's got a pretty heavy smell of sulfur and coal on him. I take it this was one of the clowns that attacked the firearms shop?"

Aerin nods. He was. He shot me right between the eyes.

[Kenyon]

Rex rolls his eyes. "Please. I know you people have a pretty low opinion of us, but I'm not THAT stupid. I'm just sayin' you boys're due for a hell of an attitude adjustment."

[Nevrmore]

"That sounds less like you believing in karmic fate and more like a thinly veiled disguise to me." Hawk thinks for a moment.

"By the way, I'm new here, so do you mind telling me exactly what stroke of genius made you go attacking that man's shop?"

[Rebonack]

Regiji taps his chin. He had seen this guy before. At the tavern, but where else. He turns to Aerin.

"Was he, or any of his flunkies, on the Cornerstone recently?"

[Nevrmore]

Hawk scoffs a bit at Aerin talking about how Rex got her between the eyes.

"nigh-invincible angel." He mutters again to himself.

[Kenyon]

Rex gives Hawk an odd look. "Y'mean a thinly veiled threat? Man, and you people think WE'RE dumb."

"As for your question, me and my boys're here on business. We've been summoned to find Kenyon Trammel, a fugitive from our country that seems to have settled down here. We would have taken care of him and left long ago, but this joke of a police force seems to like gettin' in our way every time."

[Lord Iames Osari]

Aerin looks at Hawk. It's not my fault. Blame Iames.

To Regiji: I think so, yes.

[Lord Iames Osari]

Iames nods. Yes, they were.

[Nevrmore]

((I realized the redundancy of "thinly veiled disguise" a couple minutes before you posted x.x))

"And who gave you the authority to hunt him down? Or for that matter attack innocent people who don't have a connection to him? What, did some king give you permission? Highest power in the land? Because otherwise I think this is a serious step out of your juris diction, if you even have any authority there."

[Rebonack]

Regiji crack a grin.

"So more of those crazy wizard's cronies get themselves landed in jail. First that lanky psychic critter tries to burn down the station, then Magtok openly attacks me because I guessed his connection with the Nine, and now Vin Diesel here who apparently blew up the shop of a respected businessmen. For a Council of Evil these guys seem really sloppy"

[Kenyon]

Rex looks Hawk square in the eye. "We Marshals have the verbal and written approval of our Master General, commander-in-chief of all Sarundian Armed Forces, second only to the Emperor himself!"

Rex hits a button, as the plates of metal making up his armor grind back to their original positions underneath his clothes. Digging into a back pocket, he pulls out a protected sheet of paper, declaring Rex to be a Marshal of the Sarundian Army, granting him jurisdiction to leave the country and dispatch any enemies of the Sarundian nation.

"And I can hear the rest of you over there! I didn't blow up Trammel's shop, the idiot did it himself! Or did y'all not see the gigantic cannon sticking out of his wall?"

[Lord Iames Osari]

And your mission here is to arrest or kill Mr. Trammel on what charges, again?

[Nevrmore]

Hawk eyes the card, sneering. He sticks his hands inside the pockets of his trenchcoat.

"That's great, it really is. Lovely penmanship." He winces.

"If you have the authority to capture a criminal, fine, but until you get the authority for wanton destruction, disturbance of the peace, willful disregard of the law of this land, assaulting an officer, resisting arrest, and assaulting innocent people, then I, as a marshal, give you the verbal and written approval to sit down and shut the hell up."

[Kenyon]

Rex groans. "I thought you gods're supposed t'be omniscient. Trammel is wanted for abandonin' his post, dereliction of duty, not to mention several counts of murder."

He looks back at Hawk. "This place has laws? I'm sorry, I thought it only had rules to give everyone who's not part of it's happy little club a hard time. I'll give regard to the laws when the damn laws are actually worth regardin', thanks."

[Lord Iames Osari]

Having only been a god for a few months, I'm finding that omniscience is taking time to develop, Iames says. Very well. I will see if I can track Mr. Trammel down.

[Nevrmore]

"Now hold on, Captain Iames, we don't even know if what this guy is saying is true or not. Besides that, I'd think until we get the opinion of someone more reliable then him we don't even have the authority to capture this guy."

He looks back to Rex, "If you don't feel like regarding them as laws, regard them as warnings. As in, if I see you breaking one of them, be warned I'll have no problem bringing your ass down."

"Again."

[Lord Iames Osari]

Iames raises his eyebrows. Did I say anything about capturing him? And actually, he has assaulted several people, if you look at the case file. So we do have the authority.

[Kenyon]

"I'm sorry, I don't seem to remember you bein' there durin' our little scuffle. The only reason I went down was because Trammel set up a booby trap for me. So your mouth better not be writin' checks that your ass can't cash, boy.

And besides, I think the fact that he's been more than willing to open fire not only on me and my men, but your own officers in order to escape is more than enough of a sign of guilt."

[Nevrmore]

"I have to admit, I don't know many people who'd be scared enough of you guys to open fire like that.

Or, you know, at all."

[Lord Iames Osari]

Aerin grows tired of the bickering. Iames, I'm going on a patrol. She heads out.

[Nevrmore]

Hawk looks at Iames, "Wait, this Kenyon is a wanted criminal and he owns a shop? Are you kidding me?"

[Lord Iames Osari]

I'll come along. Iames hurries after her. Before going out the door, he tells Hawk, He had the shop before he became a wanted criminal. After that we thought he was dead, so...

[Rebonack]

*cough*

"So should I stick around in regard to my earlier request?" Regiji asks the chief of police. "Or should I just be on my way?"

[Kenyon]

"That's a question I've been askin' myself ever since I got here."

[Nevrmore]

"You're coming with me, Regiji." Hawk looks at Rex, a little bit of the disdain lightening. "Come on."

[Kenyon]

Rex waves to the leaving officers. "Y'all come back now, y'hear?"

[Rebonack]

Regiji shrugs.

"Very well," he waves over his back at Rex as he walks through the door. "Enjoy your stay, Vin. I'll keep an eye out for that attitude adjustment you mentioned."

[Lord Iames Osari]

*cough*

"So should I stick around in regard to my earlier request?" Regiji asks the chief of police. "Or should I just be on my way?"

Oh, it'll take me at least a day to think this through, Iames says to Regiji as he goes through the door.

[Nevrmore]

Hawk walks out the door, adjusting his peak cap.

Eralins eyes flicker open and he jumps up, and crams himself into the corner of the cell. "GET OUT OF ME!" He yells crazily as he punches himself in the gut "OUT!" He keeps repeating, Hitting himself.

[Kenyon]

Rex sighs. "Great, and I'm stuck down the row from a loony. This's all I needed."

[Carrion_Humanoid]

"IM NOT A LOONEY!" Eralin says as he pounces to the bar "Hey. . . you want out?" Eralin says as he starts to pick the lock with the lockpick in his boot.(10 minutes)

Krysta looks up. Hey, stop that!

[Kenyon]

Hawk snatches the purse of gold coins from SASO's hand, slamming it on Iames desk. He storms out of the station without saying a word.

Regiji sighs. He knows exactly what's eating Hawk at the moment. A little thing called chaos. A little thing which happens to envelope the Town and everyone in it at all times. It eats at Regiji too. His family is tightly structured, knit together. Everyone knows their role and is honored to carry it out.

But this place. People and events bounce off one another randomly. Dozens of people die and those responsible receive retribution that amounts to little more than a stern 'Now don't do that again, you hear?" There are no real consequences for socially unacceptable behavior.

It's all the chaos, Regiji is sure. The Town is fundamentally chaotic, like an extension of Limbo itself. And as such the 'laws' that govern it were created to allow the greatest degree of 'personal freedom' which includes destroying that of others through murder.

But hey, who cares? They can just be raised, right?

"No real consequences for anything," Regiji sighs and shakes his head. "I'll see you around Omega. When it comes down to it I'll probably be up there with you at the Cornerstone."

He walks outside.

SASO sits at his desk with his feet up, and the chair leaned back at a precarious angle.
He fills out a notice stating a request for an anti-magic barrier to be put in Trog's. Maybe have the bouncers hold people's weapons until they leave as well. Might reduce the number of brawls.

Iames appears and goes over to Krysta. Officer Aerin and I were visiting Alarra's Gems on personal business when we became aware that the shop had been nearly emptied of merchandise. Upon inquiry, Alarra, Rhianne, and Thecla pieced together the events as they had unfolded.

Apparently, a man, pale, with a dark coat, sunglasses, and red eyes, came in with a warforged and enspelled Rhianne, who proceeded to aid and abet his efforts to remove the contents of the shop. Thecla attempted to put a stop to this, but was almost killed by the warforged and the man. The man fled the scene before our arrival, abandoning his accomplice.

Krysta writes this all down and files it away.

A guy wearing very large glasses, a green gilligan hat, sweat pants and a T-shirt rips a hole in the fourth wall and steps through. He informs the cell door of the cell Rex is in that it's occupant's time is up, and gives it a swift kick. The door is thouroughly chastised, and opens. It then proceeds to apologise for staying closed two hours longer than it should have, and thanks Rex for making a simple door happy. The guy steps back through the fourth wall.

Rex shoots a very confused look, as he leaves the station. Meanwhile, his player uses every ounce of will to keep from laughing out loud in the middle of the sales floor.

As he passed everyone so that they could only see his back, he began wincing in pain. His left arm, starting near the wrist and stopping at the elbow, was flayed down nearly to the bown from the firey whip he had been struck with the night prior. He left the station.

"There were more, but trying to describe them and their personality quirks would take all night."

"Anyway, thank you for that, Iames," Regiji places his right hand on his left shoulder and gives a shallow bow. "It's my honor to do what I can to maintain some small degree of order here."

The field holding Svadris dissipates, allowing him to move freely.

"Is there some kind of ceremony or something I have to go through?"

Loki slowly becomes a solid entity and he looks at his hand, grinning. Merant's such an idiot, he mumbles. He then closes the book that he's already read twice through.

"I wasn't really sure what it would entail, but I guess that's fine. I'll help the other officers as much as I can and if I run into a brawl I'll see what I can't do in terms of apprehending the suspects with as little physical harm as possible."

He thinks for a moment.

"I'll need some more of those lattice charges... those seem to work even better than the steel bands do..." he digs around in his pack for a moment, then extracts a hardcover book, which he tosses to Loki. "Knock yourself out."

He takes the book. Ah, thank you, sir. He returns to his cot and starts in on the book.
