Hey Playground,

Does anyone know of any websites that are similar to craigslist/kijiji but for books specifically? I'm looking for a personal copy of an out of print book (Microwear patterns on experimental basalt tools, by Thomas H. Richards (http://books.google.ca/books/about/Microwear_patterns_on_experimental_basal.html?id=a S4SAQAAIAAJ&redir_esc=y)). I've already looking in the usual places: Amazon, Oxbow Books, Abebooks, Ebay, Hadrian Books, and a host of other smaller vendors. The book is out of print, and of an academic nature, so the search has been a difficult one. If anyone knows of any websites where you can post wanted adds for books, or really niche bookstores online I'd love to hear about them!

edit: Forgot to ask. Does anyone have experience with buying books from http://www.probook.co.il/? They appear to have a potential copy of the book that I'm looking for, but it's a site that I know nothing about.

Weellll... this was an interesting one!

Try here (http://library.usask.ca/howto/findtheses.php), it's most likely where Mr. Richards wrote the PhD thesis you want to read. They should have a courtesy copy available for (At most) photocopy charges.

Thanks for the suggestion axharr. Unfortunately I'm looking for a copy of the published work as a gift for my supervisor, but that's an avenue that I hadn't considered!

Found it! (http://www.gettextbooks.com/isbn/9780860545910)

It's going for (english money symbol that I don't know how to make)21.00 or $86.47 in U.S.

I like researching things. I wish I could do it for a living. Unfortunately, no one wants to pay me for it. Sigh...

But anyway, I hope your supervisor likes it!
