A ranger in my group, wants to take combat styles, that revolved around using a greatclub, what suggestions, do you kind folks have for modifying the combat styles to be equivalent of a THF styled fighter.

They could go Wildshape Ranger and go Master of Many Forms. Main schtick is turning into big dudes with high strength and hitting people.

If you just wanted to change out Combat Styles, pretty simple:

2nd level: Free Power Attack
6th level: Leap Attack
11th: Shock Trooper (Basically saves them a feat but they get it so much later)

Or, since they want to use a greatclub, let them take Brambles and Spikes as Ranger spells. It adds some extra damage without being too overbearing. Mystic Ranger with it could also add nicely.

Power Attack, Favored Power Attack, maybe Knockback or Leap Attack. Leap Attack would push them into a charging role, but they'd get pretty damn solid damage output. Knockback makes things more interesting in a lot of ways, and is not usually available without Powerful Build or being Large+.

Or you could do something like Robilar's Gambit for the third feat, for a style of combat that's aggressive in a different way.

There's a few variant ranger combat styles in Dragon Magazine #326. The one for THF ("Strong-Arm Style") gives Power Attack at lvl 2, Improved Sunder at lvl 6, and Great Cleave at lvl 11. That sounds like it might be what you're looking for.

Man, Dragon was really inconsistent with their ACF's. Wild Ranger in one "Strong-Arm Style" in another...

Greatclub + Improved Unarmed Strike + TWF = best of both worlds. Take Power Attack at 1st, Improved Bull Rush at 3rd, Leap Attack/Shock Trooper at 6th. Dip into Fighter a bit, maybe pick up Three Mountain style and then join the GREAT CLUB Club (http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showthread.php?t=49522).
