Portable shrine or Altar?

Hello,

I'm going to finally be able to play a Necromancer in my upcoming game, and was looking to see if there were any printed rules for a portable shrine or altar that could be used in conjunction with a desecrate spell? Even if I have to designate two skeletons to carry it ark of the covenant style it would be worth it.

I dont recall anything the says you cant carry one around, in theory it sounds fine because if you think about it alters are typically just stone tables basically. If available i would say just use stone shape and carry around a bunch of pre shaped clay alters basically doing the same thing as transporting a alter. Downside being if there is no stone around... If i recall correctly there is also a spell that opens a small 3X3 room that can be used for storage. Place an alter in that and its now transportable.

I rememeber seeing something like that, it might have been defenders of faith as stated above, the Arms and equipment guide, or Complete Divine. I know my Cleric/Stormlord had one cause he used to break it oput every night and make the other character he converted come pry bye it and leave donations lol.

Found them! Thank you very much. There is a Spruce one for 20 gp, which I will keep strapped to the back of my Awakened Skeletal minion familiar, who will eventually wear a Greater Ring of Desecration (http://www.wizards.com/dnd/article.asp?x=dnd/dx20021031x).
