Hello !
I want to play Tomb of Horror with Pathfinder ruleset. I use the ultimate non official conversion.
But I need character for my players, I don't know how to make level 10-14 character. Can someone help me to convert the original character (ADD) or find anywhere some character which can "survive" this mission.

Thanks !

If you are ok with character generators you can find a really nice one at

The original S1 module contained a chart with some very rough pregens, but they were mostly just six stats, class levels, and a couple lines about their magic items. The rest had to be fleshed out by the players. Names weren't even provided. Adapting these into Pathfinder pregens would be somewhat pointless.

The purpose of the Tomb is to test the ingenuity, creativity, and quick-thinking of the *players* (and also punish it arbitrarily and mercilessly). It was deliberately designed so that no particular class or strategy would be any more effective than any other. In fact, some commonly "smart" dungeoneering strategies are deliberately punished just to make sure the players aren't "too smart" and encourage them to be distrustful and paranoid about everything.

Your best bet would be to get the 3.5 version of "Tomb_of_Horrors.zip". You'll probably have to use the Wayback machine (http://web.archive.org/web/20060104080408/http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/oa/20051031a) because the link on the WotC website no longer works. That will at least get you something similar to the Pathfinder rules. Tell your players to create at least three different 9th level characters (3rd edition PCs are a lot sturdier than they were in AD&D). Make up a stack of backup 9th level pregens yourself, in case the players run out (and a few players will).

I ran this as a Halloween event several years ago, and let my players use any 3rd-party D20 product they could find, which resulted in an Ewok Jedi, a Medium-Sized Giant Robot, and a Naked Monk... actually, I think all three of those managed to make it to the end, and I was forced to determine what happens when you hit a demilich's crystal skull with a lightsaber. The Warforged Soldier w/ Minigun, Earth Elemental, and Winged Anthropomorphic Giant Octopus weren't so lucky.

Well if that's the case, they failed pretty badly.

I remember playing ToH. Picked a wizard. Thought, oh passwall will be helpful.

Never have I been so wrong.

My friend jumped into the mouth of the wall fixture at the entrance.

I suggest letting the players build the characters. Unless they are new, in which case, be prepared for the game to end real quick.:smallamused:
