........KPTUNCHUNK!

A big bump shakes you awake from your sleep.

You spend a few more seconds with your eyes closed trying to go back into sleep....You feel yourself slipping....

........KPORTUNCHUNK!

Oh! Yeah you opened your eyes this time.....Crap. Yeah your brain kicks in and there is no chance of dozing off once more.

Ugh...Yeah you remember.

You're in your coach cart with your other pals that agreed/ hired you too go too Anolde Fold.

Your car is quite fancy on the inside. Fancy paintings, plenty of room, the seats are made from fine leather and are very nice too sleep on.

The room is quite simple still. Its just a table and 3 seats. The trip isn't meant to be longer than 12 hours.

You look out the window, and at least you get too see the sunset.

The sun begins to retreat behind the Nolde mountains....3 perfect (Or would be for not the few cracks in them) light blue tetrahedrons arranged to be touching at the edges.

There is still a ways to go before you get to them, and the savannah stretches between the Noldes and you like a cracked tapestry.

(Im giving a while for your characters too know each other)

Armau slinks out of bed and begins the process of sliding into his armor. He curses with his mouth closed so that his nasty comments go mostly unheard. He is not a morning person.

Armau scowls as he looks around at the fancy trappings of the room. Fancy isn't his thing. "All this luxury and we couldn't afford some sound proofing?" he hisses. Armau would take functional over pretty any day of the week. "Aren't you supposed to be rich now?"

Nathan yawns for a bit, and decides to sit down at the table. He stares out the window for a bit, taking in the sunset and thinking about what wonders could be out there in the world.

"Well," Nathan says optimistically to the others, "maybe something good will happen when we arrive in the Fold. You never know. It could all be worth it."

With that said, Nathan decides to read a few pages of his book to try and pass the time.

No book reading for you.

"BOOOOOOM"

Your cart rocks from side to side and up and down.

What the?

You open the window and take a peak outside:

http://i786.photobucket.com/albums/yy146/MasterOfThePlanes/CrawlTrawler.jpg (http://s786.photobucket.com/user/MasterOfThePlanes/media/CrawlTrawler.jpg.html)

Holy Crap! Bandits are attacking the Crawl Trawler!

You see Nestities (Tamed ones ridden by something), swarm next to the Denonemy Bug, and one of them has climbed atop it. The Denonemy is a well tamed one, so it merely diverts course instead of frenzying.

You see a fire and a hole burning in the control tower, and you see a escort cart raise up the line, and start boarding a cart an govern orb and 4 carts away.

"Don't these bandits have any sense of decency? I haven't even eaten breakfast yet...." groans Armau as he slides on his forearm blades and fastens his greatsword to his back. "Ah well, nothing like being sleepy, hungry and cranky to motivate stabbing."

Armau turns to Joshua with a wicked smile. "Planning on doling out some orders boss or should I wing this one while you finish getting dressed?" he teases.

You exit your room, and enter the corridor area between rooms thats used too pass between the carts.

You peek through the door and see into the middle of the Govern orb (It also has a corridor running through it.

You see what is obviously a bandit!

A nearly pure human (Except for a Hand...or so you think) human carrying a hand crossbow is in the corridor and behind him trails another bandit. This one looks like a human except blue.

OK then roll initiative.

GM intrusion (Josh gets 2 XP. Give one too a player of your choice. As in you get one and another player gets one):

There is another loud boom, and the carts shake wildly. The Bandits are as if primed for this and are unshaken, however this flings the door out of Joshes hand, making the Bandits more primed for battle.

Thus the Initiative difficulty is 3.

Maybe its incremental difficulty? Il figure it out. Also you forgot too raise your might by 4 (Mutant Bonus) and get your Fire resistance

LDK Not Sure where the bonus too the roll came from. Not a complaint. Just a clarification would be nice.

Armue slashes at the bandit, and hears a popping sound in his ears as his bod goes into overdrive and feels no resistance as his blade cuts through the head of the bandit, spurting a geyser of blood into the air.

Josh has less luck, swings horribly into the Carcass of the dead bandit and his blade gets stuck in the corpse as it collapses to the floor pulling the blade out of his hands.

This gives the Blue bandit an opportunity for a free extra blow at Josh

Scowling Dragon
2013-10-28, 02:37 PM
Searching the bodies takes more then a quick search for full extent of their stuff.

Otherwise you only just get a Crossbow, 6 Bolts and a dagger.

Ridry
2013-10-28, 02:41 PM
OOC: Heh... I mean to emphasize the methodical part. The quickly was merely flavor to give Armau a business like feel to the killing... some people might be squeamish searching a bleeding gutted corpse, but not Armau, those things don't slow him down. I don't actually mean that I think it should cost less rounds or actually be faster in game time... only that for a methodical search he does it on the quick side and is very businesslike about it. I'll try to word such things more carefully in the future.

Do I get more stuff now? And does something horrible happen while I'm screwing around with the bodies :P?

You want to methodically examine bodies for stuff in the middle of a Bandit attack?

Depends on how long you might think methodically takes... I guess I just meant long enough for Nathan to recompose himself after a crack to the face that cost more than half his might points and for a plan to be formed and whatnot. If everyone is ready to move out right now I'm game.

Scowling Dragon

In response to his allies, Nathan scratches his head. "Traps really aren't my thing. I suppose we could try tying a rope low between two chairs or ends of the car to see if they are clumsy enough to trip over it, but that would just slow them down at best."

Scowling Dragon

OOC: OK then. Vote of the Majority

A thought pierces your minds "Wait a minute, how did they get past the FIRST locked door?"

You hear a piercing noise through your cart

"Twwwwwwwwwwwweeeeeeeeeeeeeaaiaiaiaiaiaiaiaiaiaiiai aiaiai"

You peek out from the passenger section to see the bolted safety door loose its energy lock, and once the last of its energy is gone it explodes as a huge beam of energy pierces through!

The beam travels forward an unknown amount, and as it passes by electrical units lose their energy and turn off.

The whole snake (the cart section of the vehicle) shakes! Must have even impacted a section of the Govern Orb (Though not all. You would be dead if it it)!

"YEEEHAW!

You hear coming from a while back.

The beam flickers for a bit then shuts down

"Awww. The damn things busted again! We better get some better loot this time for repairs!"

Armau quickly glances around for any furniture he can shove in front of the now deactivated door to slow them down....

Scowling Dragon

The fancy benches are not bolted down. You could shove one with a might roll (Difficulty 3)

Ridry
2013-11-07, 02:04 PM
Armau exerts some effort into the shove (1 point of course) and tries to use the bench to block the door.

[roll0]

Armau grimaces from the weight of the bench, it was heavier than it looked.

OOC : I wonder if my adventurer pack has any spinach in it :-(

Scowling Dragon
2013-11-07, 02:55 PM
Gah! You manage to nudge the bench slightly, but loose your grip once a tip is in the corridor. Not enough too slow anybody down. But just enough too-

"Hey look! Somebody is inside that room!"

"Must be the guys who killed Macniels!"

Yeah...

OOC : Ok, what kind of check would this require.....

I'd like to toss one end of my 50 feet of rope at my allies, ask them to tie it around themselves, and then attempt to exit to the top of the train while still holding the rope. Armau is pretty strong, if he can wedge his spikes into something and find some place to tie the rope they should be able to jump out the window with little ill effects and I can pull them up at my leisure.

Deathkeeper

If I had to guess, I'd assume both me and Zeal were waiting for each to have a good idea.

Josh presses himself against the wall, his mind racing. It seems like Armau might have an idea, though.

Climbing out of the train is a might 4 difficulty, and you only need too roll for holding the rope if the character falls (might diff 2).

And by doctor I meant you might have contracted a disease.

Ridry
2013-11-08, 03:06 PM
Not seeing any way out of the flood of bandits that is sure to come there way, and thinking they might do better fighting on top of the train if they can make it Armau tosses half of his rope to his allies and climbs out, exerting as much effort and care as he can (1 level).

If that can't be done, then Nathan readies to shoot a ray at whatever bandits come through the busted door, taking whatever cover he possibly can in the process.

OOC : If we reach the back of the train and jump.... how likely is death?

Scowling Dragon
2013-11-13, 09:47 AM
OOC: Just flat out? Likely. But with some skilled use of numera, you could do so with no harm. But just because on a mono-mono brawl against a large mob of bad guys you can't win doesn't mean that you cant beat them.

ZealPaladin

Nathan quickly moves over to the nearest access panel in the cart, seeing if any of the controls will help deal with the bandits.

Scowling Dragon
2013-11-20, 02:58 PM
Mainly the controls seem too be just about comfort and minor things and such.

Main controls are in govern orbs.

You do see a locked duct next to the panel.

Scowling Dragon

The grate is screwed in but not with the intent of keeping EVERYBODY out.

You can tell that the mechanism is jammed and forcing the door requires a Might Diff 3 Roll.

Yeah the dice are out to kill you all.

But you succeed. Nathan jams his finger but manages too refrain from screaming and then the bandits walk off.

You pry open the second grate and you feel the wind rush into your face.

This is the maintenance shaft that goes under the train. Its tall enough for you too stand slightly ducking.

The shaft has lots of exposed areas so you feel the wind rush through you as you feel the impact of the speed.

So finally you have time to think and plot and plan.

Ridry
2013-11-27, 03:34 PM

Scowling Dragon
2013-12-02, 02:28 AM
Indeed. But you have too be careful. You would have to disconnect the couplings for both sides. Otherwise it would cause drag and could collapse the whole station.

You see vents going into other rooms as well. Govern orbs included.

Wait thats it? Thats your plan? You barely spent 5 minutes there and your already crawling out.

Aren't we crawling through the vents like Star Trek jeffries tubes or whatnot. I didn't see that as being the whole plan or assume we were leaving the vents... merely picking a direction to head in. To see if there are enemies in there and observe. Am I picturing this wrong.

Scowling Dragon
2013-12-04, 09:14 PM
Well there is a single maintenance vent that goes through underneath the whole structure. I assume by going too the nearest sphere you meant exiting the safe crawlspace.

Deathkeeper
2013-12-04, 09:17 PM
Well, yes. We know next to nothing about the train as a whole and its contents despite its general design, we don't really know much about the enemy besides they have better gear than us, and we don't know how much time we have, so yes, that's pretty much the best plan we can make.

Scowling Dragon
2013-12-08, 01:03 PM

ZealPaladin

Sorry for taking so long for replies.

Anyway I suggest yoy could ask for descriptors, but figuring out how too get people together is your responcibility.

I'm just mentioning what I'm trying to do. I asked for many specific bits of info though.

1. And which direction are the bandits attention?

2. What kind of roll would I have to make to hurl the bolt into the door the two sets of bandits share? (without being noticed)

3. Or to knock something heavy over? (anything like that in the room that I can see/possible to hit without being noticed)

4. Also, are the locks that blew in the other half of this thing still working here?

5. If I get all 5 bandits in the same room could I slam/lock the door?

I was just explaining my motivation for the questions. I figured if you knew the motivations you might say something like "well there's a big chandelier hanging and they aren't looking at your location, if you're quiet you might be able to knock it down without being detected" or "they are staring right at your grate, not gonna happen, sorry"

Scowling Dragon

2. What kind of roll would I have to make to hurl the bolt into the door the two sets of bandits share? (without being noticed)

Speed diff 5 (As too avoid notice)

3. Or to knock something heavy over? (anything like that in the room that I can see/possible to hit without being noticed)

Not much sorry.

At least not much without serious effort. You could break the window.

Or maybe aim at one of the bandts weapons. Maybe it could overload and explode.

4. Also, are the locks that blew in the other half of this thing still working here?

Dunno. Maybe.

5. If I get all 5 bandits in the same room could I slam/lock the door?

Try if you want.
