Here's the situation: I started out as a Halfling rogue and became quite proficient at combat(backstab, flanking, tactics and such.) I am a front line flanker, up there with the fighters. I decided to pick up Beguiler for the casting ability and will saves, and it played very nicely with my character for role playing. I also rely pretty heavily on magic items to get by. It was determined that I had dragon lineage through dice rolls so was going to pick up a few levels of Dragon Disciple(again, role playing,) but then something happened. We acquired an artifact with a shard of the Greygem, I was curious and touched it. Suffice it to say, I am no longer a halfling, nor do I have dragon lineage. I am now 6ft tall, metallic skin, horns with a gore attack, no hair, and a breath weapon-twice a day. I effectively took on an outsider template.

Since I don't have the dragon blood anymore, I was thinking about taking Dragon Shaman. My character was looking forward to doing dragony things, and spent the skill points to acquire Disciple.

Besides Dragon Shaman, I was looking for a good class and/or feat to pick up that is inline with what happened. Rogue 7/ Beguiler 4

Thanks in advance for the help.

well... for starters, melee and beguiler (read: spellcasting) dont mix well, like oil and water, really.

at this point you need to decide how to salvage the build, do you want focus on your melee/SA or do you want to focus on your spellcasting?

if you choose your melee, the beguiler spells can be useful for scouting through spells like invisibility, but using spells in combat will just be wasted actions, as you shouldn't have spent feats to improve it since those feats don't improve your melee. this means your DCs and spell levels in general will be low, making combat casting kind of pointless.

If you choose to focus on your spellcasting, you can utilize the skillpoints you gained through rogue and pick up practiced spellcaster to make up for some of the lost levels. You'll probably need to talk to you DM about getting some feats retrained as being in melee would be a bad decision, and you should be contributing to fights through spells like glitterdust, shadow well, etc. and most of your feats would be spent making your spells more effective and raising the DCs.

Yeah, I don't combat cast at all. I picked up Beguiler primarily for roleplaying and the prereq. for Disciple. The will saves are nice for a rogue as well. I have used spells on occasion, but in game the other characters have never even seen my character cast. I plan on staying melee centered as my character is leaning away from the whole rogue thing. I don't have all of the books; are there prestige classes for outsider types? Maybe feats for breath weapons that are NOT measured in rounds?

First off some useful reading material:
Rogue Handbook (http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showthread.php?p=8711233)
Beguiler Handbook (http://www.minmaxboards.com/index.php?topic=363.0)
Sneak Attacking Spellcasters Handbook (http://brilliantgameologists.com/boards/index.php?topic=1240)

Dragonfire Adept (Dragon Magic, Handbook (http://community.wizards.com/forum/previous-editions-character-optimization/threads/1101061)) might be an interesting way to go. It gives you a breath weapon at first level and the feat Dragontouched. This would give you a dragon flavor and allow you to take some dragon based feats from Dragon Magic, Races of the Dragon, and others.
