Looking for Pathfinder monsters (or ideas of monsters) that explode upon dieing. (Balors and flaming skeletons excluded).

Cheers!

I think there's a nuclear ooze in d20 modern.

Gasburst Zombie (Poison Gas/Fire) (http://www.d20pfsrd.com/bestiary/monster-listings/templates/zombie), Blast Shadow (Fire) (http://www.d20pfsrd.com/bestiary/monster-listings/undead/blast-shadow), Ice Golem (Piercing and Ice) (http://www.d20pfsrd.com/bestiary/monster-listings/constructs/golem/golem-ice), Weaponized Carrion Golem (various) (http://www.d20pfsrd.com/bestiary/monster-listings/constructs/golem/golem-carrion/golem-carrion-weaponized), Frost Worms (Piercing/Ice) (http://www.d20pfsrd.com/bestiary/monster-listings/magical-beasts/frost-worm), Clockwork Myrmidon (Piercing/Fire) (http://www.d20pfsrd.com/bestiary/monster-listings/constructs/clockwork-open-design/clockwork-myrmidon-mb), Obisidian Elemental (Piercing) (http://www.d20pfsrd.com/bestiary/monster-listings/outsiders/elemental/quasi-elemental-obsidian) and Lich Shade (CON Poison) (http://www.d20pfsrd.com/bestiary/monster-listings/undead/lich-shade)

Other than that a positive energy elemental (http://www.d20pfsrd.com/bestiary/monster-listings/outsiders/elemental/elemental-positive-energy-tohc) deals positive energy damage (or heals living party members).

An additional thought: a skilled alchemist can make ANYTHING explode really. Just strap enough explosives to it.

I don't know how easy it is to transpose other 3.X monsters into Pathfinder, but three types of Draconian (Bozak, Sivak and Aurak) from the Dragonlance Campaign Setting explode upon dying.

I seem to recall mephits in previous editions used to explode upon dying. In any case, it's simplicity itself to homebrew an explosion mechanic and tack it onto most any elemental or elemental-typed outsider. Off the top of my head...

1d6 damage per 2HD to all foes within 10', Ref save for half. Season to taste with different damage types (fire, sonic, negative energy, etc.).

Isn't there just a feat you can slap onto almost anything ?

I may be misremembering, but I think there's a necromancy feat that allows you to apply a explosive property to undead you raise. Only thing I can think of.

There's the detonate and death mark spells, too.

Ah, that's probably it.

There's the feat final strike for creatures with the elemental subtype from savage species that makes them explode in a blast of whatever element they are.

If your playing a genasi or something, suiciding to use the feat is a great passive-aggressive way to tell the dm you're unhappy with his game.

The gas spores from Lords of Madness probably would translate well enough, just as long as you make them look like a monster other than a beholder (cacodaemon (http://www.d20pfsrd.com/bestiary/monster-listings/outsiders/daemons/cacodaemon), perhaps?)

I'm leaning towards a flaming skeleton raised from an Elysian Titan. Catastrophic damage would be cool. But if I ever play an elemental - I will be just waiting to suicide to save the party! Be able to tell that story for a while. Even play a bard that can write his ballade.
