I recently picked up a 3.5E game after a long hiatus (and moving on to 4E), and am a bit rusty on a few things. I seem to remember that the Skill Synergy bonus bumped from +2 to +4 when you achieved 15 ranks in a skill, but I can't find this anywhere...

Does anyone know where this rule is located?

You may be thinking of epic skill synergy (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/epic/skills.htm), which says, "Many skills are noted as granting a synergy bonus to the use of another skill when a character has 5 or more ranks in the first skill. This synergy bonus increases by +2 for every additional 20 ranks the character has in the skill." You need 25 ranks to get to +4, in other words.

You may be thinking of Pathfinder (http://www.d20pfsrd.com/) rules.

It does sound pathfinderish, except pathfinder has no skill synergies.

I've seen something like that as a homerule, but not an official rule. Even seen an additional +2 for every 10 ranks after the required 5 ranks. So +2 at 5 ranks, +4 at 15 ranks, +6 at 25 ranks, etc.

Right! That's what I was remembering. But that's not an official rule then? Could have swore I read it somewhere, but danged if I can find it....

The closest thing I can think of is in CAdv, but I think that was for Aid Another.

I want to say that there might have been something of the sort in Oriental Adventures, but my copy is packed away. It's also 3.0 material.
