I'm currently fleshing out a character for the Rise of the Runelords adventure path (No spoilers, please!), and I want to make sure he feels at place in the Golarion setting. I have limited experience with Pathfinder in general, and next to zero with Golarion specifically. With that in mind:

The character, [Name Pending], is going to be a Half-elf Magus, STR-based, heavy armor eventually. Yes, I realize Dervish Dancer is strictly better. The DM already thinks Magi are "broken" so I'm playing nice. He was raised by Elven parents, obviously illegitimate, and grew up assuming he was the product of a Human man imposing upon his Elven mother. In fact, it was his Elven father who held a morbid curiosity toward the "vulgar races." When [Name Pending] found out, he began to foster a hatred for his elven heritage. This hatred eventually culminated with [Name Pending] cutting his ears and leaving elfland. He now lives as a vehement Humanist, waging a violent social crusade against (what he perceives as) the oppression of Humans. He's spoiled, whiny, and thinks the universe owes him something. I like giving my characters plenty of room to grow as people.

So my question is this: How does this character fit into Golarion? Is there a faction of particularly snobbish elves that would be good for his hometown? Is there a human-centric group he would naturally fall in with upon leaving the elves? Aesthetically, I like "Fantasy Middle East" vibe of the Valenar Elves (Eberron) for this guy. Is there an equivalent in Golarion? Also, if this character is just completely wrong for Rise of the Runelords, I'd appreciate a heads up (without spoiling the adventure path, if possible).

Thanks, everyone!

Korvosa (http://pathfinderwiki.com/wiki/Korvosa) is situated near Rise of the Runelords' starting location, and is home to elves who behave like that (http://pathfinderwiki.com/wiki/Perishial_Kalissreavil). Extrapolating from there, I could see this fellow falling in with the Order of the Nail (http://pathfinderwiki.com/wiki/Order_of_the_Nail), which, like all Hellknight orders is more Chelaxian-supremecist than human-supremecist, but it makes little difference; non-humans are also non-Chelaxian after all.

Adding to Zimmerwald's excellent advice, there is a small contingent of Order of the Nail Hellknights currently emplaced in Magnimar (http://pathfinder.wikia.com/wiki/Magnimar). Since the Nail focus primarily on 'quelling savage practices', perhaps your character was sent to 'the starting location' of your campaign in order to look into the troubles of the region?

Hard to be more specific than that without posting some very light spoilers. One other thing... Have you had a look at the RotRL Player's Guide (http://paizo.com/products/btpy8bd9?Pathfinder-Rise-of-the-Runelords-Players-Guide)? My players found it very handy when designing their characters for our Rise of the Runelords campaign.

Korvosa is not situated near the start of Runelords, it's situated 400 miles of air distance from there (or 300 miles if we're talking about the city-state of Korvosa as a whole).

Secondly, Mierani forest lies even further away from Korvosa. It's actually located northwest of Riddleport, and lies some 250 miles of air distance north of Sandpoint.

The most snobbish elves I can think of are the elves of Mordant Spire (http://pathfinderwiki.com/wiki/Mordant_Spire_Elves). Their home is located west off the coast of Varisia, and since they have pretty awesome ships, it's entirely possible a character could have traveled to Magnimar or Riddleport from there.

I don't know of any humanist movements in Pathfinder, but these things pop up in large cities all the time anyway. So if you're located in Magnimar to start with, you'll have an easy time getting to Sandpoint. You still need an excuse to be there though, so read the player's guide to get a general sense of where to start, and then talk to your GM.

Thanks, all! I'll be sure to look into everyone's suggestions.
