Question about character building.

If a high level character (Say, Fighter 14) takes a level on a martial class (Warblade), the range of maneuvers available is wider than for a Warblade 1 since the levels of fighter count half as martial class levels. However, to select a great number of maneuvers there still are other Prerequisites (Having X number of maneuvers of the discipline in question). So my question is if such a character could select maneuvers for which he is of enough level but doesn't fill the prerequisites before the time of selection, but would fill them after having them.

For instance, a Fighter 14/Warblade 1. Gets 3 Maneuvers and 1 Stance. He can select up to 4th level but... could he get Bonesplitting Strike (Prq: 2 Stone Dragon mvr.), Crushing Weight of the Mountain (Prq: 2 Stone Dragon mvr.) and Stone Dragon's Fury (Prq: 1 Stone Dragon mvr.)? Or would he first have to get a no prerequisite one first and then escalate from there as he gets access to more maneuvers?

You have to fulfill the prerequisites.

You have to meet all Pre Reqs so you gotta start with one that needs no x of type maneuver known first. Then you get higher up for the last 2 and the stance

Even if you satisfy the IL prerequisite of a maneuver, you must still satisfy the maneuver's specific prereqs. Thus, even if you have IL enough to use Bonesplitting Strike, you must first have at least two Stone Dragon maneuvers before selecting that one.

That said, when you take your first Warblade level, you need not take only level 1 maneuvers. In the above example, you could take a level 1 or level 2 Stone Dragon maneuver, with no prereqs, followed by Stone Dragon's Fury (for which you've just satisfied the prereq by taking a Stone Dragon maneuver), followed by Bonesplitting Strike. That's three maneuvers, since Warblade only knows 3 starting out, but you've moved up to Bonesplitting Strike already by doing that.

A fighter can also take the martial study feat to gain maneuvers at earlier levels, and can use those as prerequisites for his warblade maneuvers (I think).

More general rule of thumb:

If you are using a thing A to fulfil a prerequisite for thing B, then thing B cannot also be used to fulfil a prerequisite for thing A. Even if they are both taken at the same time.

Goes for feats as well as maneuvers.

That's because "at the same time" is not a thing which is possible to do.

Do keep in mind, however, that maneuver prereqs are for learning only. You can safely learn a maneuver, use it as a prereq for another maneuver, and later trade it out for something else using the trading system you get access to at 4th level.
