Siege engines (http://www.d20pfsrd.com/gamemastering/other-rules/siege-engines) are badass. Cannons are very badass. Your standard adventurer, however, can't really use a cannon for much.
However:
In most cases, a Large or larger creature can use a siege firearm as a two-handed firearm, but the creature takes a –4 penalty for using it this way because of its awkwardness.
Enter the half-giant (http://www.d20pfsrd.com/psionics-unleashed/races/half-giant)'s Powerful Build.
Oh, the damage is good, 6d6 but the really good thing is range. 100ft and since it counts as a firearm for you, it targets touch AC. Before errata, you could use Titan Mauler to reduce your to-hit penalties, but now you just have to accept it. There is no problem to reload - you consider it a two-handed firearm, just take Rapid Reload. You won't be making any iteratives, so how about Vital Strike (http://www.d20pfsrd.com/feats/combat-feats/vital-strike-combat---final)? Each shot costs 25 GP, but if you have Gunsmith you can make the cannonballs yourself for half the price, so that's about as expensive as a charge on a 1st level wand.
At level 6, you can do this with any full bab class (I suggest Fighter for the bonuses to hit; you can convert those into Deadly Aim). 12d6 damage vs touch AC at a range of 100ft.
I kinda like it. :smallamused:
