Ah. Is it possible to trace this photo back to its origin?

My jealousy will pierce the heavens.
Mine pierced even tomorrow.

I have a soldier buddy who was overseas just recently. I'll have to show this to him.

not to diminish what they did.. and it is very awesome what they did.. but 5th ed is on the way.. so anything from a previous edition is the way of the dinosaur

Companies do stuff like this often. When I was in Iraq a buddy of mine wrote to the company that makes Red Man and they sent him a huge box, about a years supply.

And from what we've seen of 5e, it doesn't seem like it's going to be any better than 4e in that regard. I'm not a 4th edition fan, but it had character, there were reasons to play it. 5e is just a boring version of 3.5.

For what it's worth, my brother in the Navy tells me that there is pretty much always at least one D&D group on a ship. Makes sense, since you spend so much time more or less physically isolated from the rest of the world. Kinda like high school.

Yeah, Wizards is pretty cool about things like this. Some years ago, I happened to find myself in Renton, WA, and decided I'd stop in and see the WotC headquarters (it was just down the road from my hotel). Without me even asking, they gave me two free decks of Magic cards and a T-shirt. Granted, they were old decks that probably didn't sell well, but I wasn't even expecting anything.
