This is a planer setup I created that connects several of my settings and has several unique aspects for planer cosmology.

All the planes are inside a sphere. The being that created the sphere is more powerful then dieties and reletivily unknown (the sphere was actually made as that beings research into the natural laws of the greater universe, not that any mortal beings would ever discover this)

There are six poles, equidistant on the sphere. Each pole is associated with an element (top is spirit, north is fire, south is air, east is water, and west is earth, and bottom is ether) each plane has features depending on how close it is to each pole. So the planes near earth are filled with lots of rock and earth, while planes near air are filled with air and gas. The spirit element is about life and chaos and those worlds are filled with life and magic. Ether element is about law and stability, these worlds are more structured and likely to have patterns or cycles and magic is generally weak or nonexistant real close to the ether pole.

The real close to the Ether pole look very similar, have planets, and the closer to the pole the more resemblence. Spirit is just the opposite, the closer one gets to the spirit pole, the wildly divergent things get.

Each pole has a plane that is furthest out and completely exemplifies that element. There is also the plane in the center which has equal parts of all six elements. No one has ever reached there though.

There was an old empire that made planer gates connecting many planes , but now there are just ruins. However, because of their work, many races that developed on different planes can now be found on many planes and often together.

I havent decided if there are infinite planes, or if there are a limited number of them. Either way, plenty of space to work with.

In this setting, the plane of shadow doesnt exist, spells that use shadow are affecting planer substance found in all planes, kinda like the stuff that matter is made from. This substance, called aethereum, is also used in a variety of ways for other advanced spells, like teleportation effects. Etherealness is a state of existance and has no plane involved at all, rather is more like energy patterns without any aethereum to give it substance.

Souls are not eternal, though they can be. The health of a soul is visible through state of mind. A "broken" mind is a very damaged soul. Almost all living things have souls and can be revived if the body healed. However, souls are damaged by death, and other things, and it is possible to destroy a soul outright, though this is difficult (this is what happens when a creature cant be ressurected.) Once a soul is destroyed, it cant be recovered, not even by the dieties (which are basically those people of such power they dont need a body anymore)

The plane I am using right now, is a post apocolyptic fantasy setting. This plane is between earth and air. It has suns that fly around fixed paths, while the ground is kinda like a non flat minecraft, on a large scale, but on an individual scale, it seems "normal" though sometimes mountains or the ground go up or drop down out of sight or you can walk around a large curve and see a new flat land, there is air anywhere without something else (except rare pockets too far from any ground)

What do you guys think?
