Is there any armor that gives a higher bonus to AC than mountain plate(+10 bonus) max dex bonus doesn't really matter, but a lower cost would be nice.

Mechanus Gear (Planar Handbook) isn't better in AC bonus- but it's equal (+10). It is also much cheaper and lighter in weight.

EDIT: I've found 1 armour that is AC bonus: +11. The Diablo 2: Diablerie book version of Full Plate Armor. More expensive, though.

Well I'll be damned.

THAT is going in the handbook.

Now All I need to do it make it Githcraft, add thistledown, and make it out of Blended quartz and it will only have a 10% Arcane Spell Failure.

if 3rd party is OK, then the definitive harness from arcana unearthed/evolved is also a +12.

The definitive harness 10,000 gp +12 AC +3 Max Dex –4 Armor check 25% ASF 50 lbs. heavy armor

it's an exotic armor, though, so requires a feat for proficiency.

Masterwork breastplate with +1 defending armor spikes, with two +1 defending gauntlets, a +1 defending heavy shield (since shields can be bashed with as weapons) with +1 defending shield spikes, a masterwork chahar-aina and a masterwork dastana. Then add in +1 defending braid blades, boot blades, sleeve blades, and so on.

Buy some level 3 pearls of power for Greater Magic Weapon on the defending armor spikes, defending shield, defending shield spikes and defending gauntlets. (With another one for every additional blade you add.) Then some more level 3 pearls of power for Magic Vestment on the chain shirt, shield, chahar-aina, and dastana.

That's a +10 AC for the breastplate, +5 AC for the armor spikes, +12 for the shield, +10 for both gauntlets together, +5 for the shield spikes, +6 for the chahar-aina, and +6 for the dastana. Then another +5 for all of the additional blades you carry on your person.

And all for the base equipment (all of which is +2 or less) and 9,000 gp for each pearl of power you buy for each of them.

DM's the only god here. And touch attacks you're guaranteed to receive, en mass.

And pray to all gods you don't encounter touch attacks.Note that defending is an untyped bonus that applies directly to AC, with no exceptions given to touch AC or incorporeal touch AC. I believe it works regardless of what kind of attack is made against you.

You know you are screwed when the DM starts playing the soundtrack from the old Transformers movie. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Cf_qfX9cKsQ) :smallamused:

I believe both the dastana and the four mirrors cannot be used with breastplate. It limits you to chain at the heaviest (on the table). Dastana are gauntlet add-ons, by the way, and the chahar-aina is a makeshift breastplate that goes over chain/leather/etc. The dastana works, because they're basically manacres. But the four mirrors? At that point, you should just wear chain armor under full plate for a +13 base.

Hate to burst your bubble about the chahar-aina and dastana.

While each states they stack with shield and armor bonuses, neither says they stack with each other. Pick one or the other, not both.

And remember with the update, they basically take up a body slot. Shoulders for the Chahar-aina and bracers for the dastana.

By the time you get to that many Pearls of Power, you're better off with a metamagic rod of Chain Spell instead. Especially if you're getting your GMW from an arcane caster, and so can use the lesser rod.
