Need to find a spell.

I'm looking for a spell that would allow a single (or multiple, it doesn't matter) melee attack to be used as a missile attack instead. Preferably a Wiz/Sor spell of 3rd level or lower. 3.5 or PF acceptable? Any ideas?

Whirling Blade (Spell Compendium, Brd/Sor/Wiz 2). Make a melee attack with a slashing weapon against every creature in a 60' line.
