This kickstarter will probably be of interest to some people here-

It's for the translation of a Spanish retro clone of the Mentzer Basic D&D game. Frank Mentzer is even writing the intro for it. It looks gorgeous.

You might want to take a look at the General Kickstarter thread (http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showthread.php?t=254357) in the main forum for another place to post.

Taking a look through the kickstarter, this looks like something that started as BECMI D&D with some changes made to it. I notice what what looks like a THAC0 table (https://s3.amazonaws.com/ksr/assets/001/015/552/a309ef8ac1c2185562a7a24c20ab1090_large.jpg) and a list of "classes" which have elf, dwarf, and halfling alongside thief, warrior, and paladin. Are you familiar with the system yourself, and if so what differences does it have from other retroclones?

As I don't speak Spanish, I'm not familiar with the original game. From what's been said online, it's pretty much a retro clone of the Mentzer Basic/Expert D&D rules with the addition of the ranger and paladin classes. The main difference between this and other retro clones are the high production values, support (they have a number of other additional rulebooks, a detailed campaign setting, and several adventures), and a good gaming community behind it.
