My DM has finally given us a nontrivial amount of gold and I'm interested in buying some magical items. I am a level 4 witch, pretty bog standard. I have 7k~ to spend; what do I do here? It's my first time playing tabletop, so what books should I be looking at for researching magical items? DM is allowing any core stuff. My equipment is currently a Ring of Wizardry I, a ring that gives me one additional spell slot of any slot I possess, and an amulet that gives a +1 deflection bonus to ac.

Also, I have a DM-given homebrewed ability to transform myself, in which my spells act as my int modifier is really my int, cha, and wis modifiers summed. So if I have a +5 int mod, a +1 wis mod, and a +0 cha mod, my total modifier is +6. Is there any way to abuse this aside from enhancement bonus buff spells?

Depends on what you mean by "... my spells act as my int modifier is really my int, cha, and wis modifiers summed." Otherwise I would look in Ultimate Equipment or d20pfsrd.com (http://www.d20pfsrd.com) for your equipment needs.

Thanks for the link.

Add the modifiers for Int, Cha, and Wis together. All spells/hexes use this combined number as the modifier for the purposes of DCs, damage, etc.

Well if you can combine all mental stats, then what you'll be going for is a headband of mental superiority (http://www.d20pfsrd.com/magic-items/wondrous-items/wondrous-items/h-l/headband-of-mental-superiority). But for starters, just get a headband of vast intelligence (http://www.d20pfsrd.com/magic-items/wondrous-items/wondrous-items/h-l/headband-of-vast-intelligence) +2. Unless, of course, you have the option of crafting magic items, in which case a headband of mental prowess (http://www.d20pfsrd.com/magic-items/wondrous-items/wondrous-items/h-l/headband-of-mental-prowess) +2 is better and affordable (at 5,000 gp).

Rods and Scrolls for Use Magic Device.

Other than that, just a headband of vast intelligence +2 or a belt of mighty constitution would be most useful to you.

Spell scrolls to feed your familiar. MORE SPELLS! (I may be biased.)

You might not need it yet, but a Stone Familiar (http://www.d20pfsrd.com/magic-items/wondrous-items/wondrous-items/r-z/stone-familiar) would be a good investment later.

A Rod of Extend Spell or Reach Spell might be useful, depending on what spells you use.

If you're doing the Misfortune/Cackle combo (and YOU SHOULD BE), a Quick Runner's Shirt (http://www.d20pfsrd.com/magic-items/wondrous-items/wondrous-items/r-z/shirt-quick-runners) might be useful for those times you REALLY need to cackle, hex, AND avoid getting stabbed all in one turn.
