Better than a Scimitar or Rapier as a martial one-handed weapon (due to the two damage types) but probably not enough to make it an exotic weapon.

As a light or one-handed weapon of martial or simple, it's fairly good, especially if finessable. If exotic, meh. If two-handed, meh, even with reach.

WotC would probably make it exotic though.
Still what does it look like? Something like a fencing sabre (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sabre_%28fencing%29)but weaponized?

If it did just slashing or just piercing it would be a Rapier or a Scimitar. Both are just 1-handed martial weapons.

It is not out of line for a 1-handed martial weapon. If it is not finessible its just a better scimitar.

In that case, yes, it's better than any other light, martial weapon in core &, IIRC, outside of core as well.

It's no gnomish quickrazor though.

Sort of the lovechild of the Kukri and the Shortsword with the damage type of both, the damage die of the shortsword, and the crit range of the kukri.

It's a finessable scimitar that you can't power attack with.
