My question is in regarding to say, putting an ogre into a 5 foot hallway. What can it do? what can't it do? are there penalties for attacks? Are these rules covered anywhere in the books?
Or is the height of the hallway more important than the width?

Squeezing

In some cases, you may have to squeeze into or through an area that isn’t as wide as the space you take up. You can squeeze through or into a space that is at least half as wide as your normal space. Each move into or through a narrow space counts as if it were 2 squares, and while squeezed in a narrow space you take a -4 penalty on attack rolls and a -4 penalty to AC.

When a Large creature (which normally takes up four squares) squeezes into a space that’s one square wide, the creature’s miniature figure occupies two squares, centered on the line between the two squares. For a bigger creature, center the creature likewise in the area it squeezes into.

A creature can squeeze past an opponent while moving but it can’t end its movement in an occupied square.

To squeeze through or into a space less than half your space’s width, you must use the Escape Artist skill. You can’t attack while using Escape Artist to squeeze through or into a narrow space, you take a -4 penalty to AC, and you lose any Dexterity bonus to AC.

There is a section here about squeezing into small spaces (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/combat/movementPositionAndDistance.htm).

Also there is an armor enchant that will allow the wearer to fight in a "squeeze" with less or no penalties. I cannot remember exactly atm.

Malleable (+1 enhancement, FR Underdark p. 60). This armor property does two things: 1) your movement is no longer considered "hampered", so moving through tight spaces no longer costs double movement, and 2) you retain your Dex bonus while in tight spaces. However, you still take a -4 penalty to attacks and AC when squeezing into tight spaces.

If you'd rather not be large, you can try a Shrink Collar (10000 GP, A&EG p. 80) to become small-sized whenever you like.

Dungeonscape has "Dungeonbred" creatures. Won't work on Ogre, but everyhing else.
