What's the best way to have a long distance conversation with a potentially hostile target? Message (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/spells/message.htm) looks promising but it's only medium range. So far the best I've found is to cast Message through a Scrying spell, but that fails to will saves and Mind Blank. If there anything that's like Message but unlimited range?

I believe the spell you are looking for is sending (http://www.d20pfsrd.com/magic/all-spells/s/sending).

No it's not. Sending is limited to 25 words.

You can use Sending to ask them to cooperate with the scrying.

Another option is Correspond (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/psionic/powers/correspond.htm) if you don't mind finding a psion.

You can use Sending to ask them to cooperate with the scrying.

Or to get a pound of ash in a bag so you can use Whispering Sand.

whispering wind maybe? It goes up to 1 mile per level. The limit is 25 words however, and the target is an area of you knowing, not a person, so if you send it and there is nobody there to hear it, well, bad luck!

So I saw the OP and thought of Rings of Communication (MiC pg. 122), an underrated little item for parties in scouting and social settings. That said it doesn't really apply here.

But for the purposes of a potential hostile force, one way to go is invisibility (or hide) + Major Image. Just talk to him via your proxy. Even if he knows it's an image, you can make it clear it's for the purposes of discussion.

It is a major flaw in the game. Destroy a moon? Sure. Talk to somebody a hundred miles away, that's going to be difficult.

If they are a hostile force, you could just scry them to know their location and then teleport their minion's heads on spikes. That's a clear message.

A long line of commoners screaming your messages at the top of their lungs.

"Let's team up against the drow!"
"Let's turn up a gangster crow!"
"Let's tie up a sacred cow!"

Enlarge spell may be of some help. Maybe.

Just make a rapid sending Wondrous item.

Rapid takes the casting time down to a minute.

So. Really. What. You. Are. Doing. Is. Slowing. Down. The. Conversation. To. One. Word. Every. Two. Seconds. Which. By. Telegraph. Standards. Was. Not. That. Bad.

Then you can use it all day long.
