Magic Discipline

Do you think the Disciplined Erudite variant rule could be used to select the Magic Discipline, after all the Erudite cannot learn the level 9 arcane spells because they are treated as a discipline but also as a power one level higher.

So if I took StP and then traded out my Psicrystal feat as it says a bonus feat not THE bonus feat. So if you traded it out for the Disciplined variant thing could you declare it as Magic Disciplined which would make the rules count as it being on your powers list allowing you to get to level 9 without Magic Mantle stuff.

The only person whose opinion matters on this front is your DM. If it makes you feel any better this trick has been mentioned here multiple times with no true consensus on whether it works.

Note that you can learn 9th-level spells on your Erudite just fine by developing an epic power.
