Hi there. I love coop games (or semi-coop) and next to The Legend of Andor, I saw today a game named "The Republic of Rome". The store manager told me it was a fairly complicated, yet very very rewarding game of semi-cooperation with other players; where you have to struggle together (or fail), yet still come on top of the other players in the long run.

Have any of you played it? Are there rules for a long-winded campaign that transition between the three Eras? (I heard there are 3 eras you can play in), or is a single true game meant to be played through the three eras?

Is there an "optimal" number of player? How hard is it to pick up- do you think a first-playing group could still manage a rewarding game within 4 hours?
