Do you use the table or the text for raven stats or a combination? Because by the text ravens only have 20ft poor flight, but also have +6 wisdom and no penalty to charisma. As opposed to the table with 30ft +4 wis, -4 cha.

oriental adventures, hyokeika(something spelled like that) , look up the animal race table on that

How does that relate to anthropomorphic raven stats? Hengeyokai birds are either sparrows(the most awesome) or cranes.

And are not related at all to the original post...

General rule is that text trumps table.

Savage Species is 3.0, raven stats might have changed in 3.5

There has been no rewrite of SS for 3.5, so it was grandfathered in.

I know, but anthropomorphic is a template that is applied to creatures out of the Monster Manual. The Monster Manual was updated, and so the pre-generated anthropomorphic creatures are out of date even though the template is unchanged.

I don't know the creature from Savage Species, so I cannot say if it's similar, but in PF there is an humanoid bird race called Tengu (http://www.d20pfsrd.com/races/other-races/featured-races/arg-tengu).

No wings though, so no natural flight speed, but there's the Tengu Wings (http://www.d20pfsrd.com/feats/arg-feats/tengu-wings-tengu) feat for that.

The 3.5 equivalent of a Tengu is a Kenku. Completely different from an Anthro Raven.

Yep, a walking talking Birdman is completely different from an Anthropomorphic Bird. Wait a sec.

Nah, I thought of that. The two seem exactly the same. Anyway, I'm in agreement with the text beats table folks, for text beats table.

Should it still be an LA +0 having true flight(however slow), claws, and positive ability adjustments?

well........ savage is..unbalanced somewhat, what class are you being, and what is the power level of your fellow players. If your a caster, ID say that is to much , but if your anything tier 4 and below, and not starting off below level 5, I would allow it.

If I made it Raptorian flight instead would it be ok? Playing an arcane swordsage, generally medium power. DM requests spell specialization in one field, in my case fire spells to complement desert wind, Flame Blade, Burning Hands, Produce Flame etc.
