Dispel magic check is d20+caster level (max+10) vs a dc 11+caster level

My question is this, If I have the inquisition domain bonus (+4 dispel checks) or an item that gives +2 to dispel and I am caster level 10 giving me a bonus of +14 or +12, does that exceed the +10 max due to the bonus?

The way I read dispel magic, is that the maximum caster level that can be added is +10. So, if the ability or item in question gives a bonus to effective caster level, then the bonus still caps at +10. If it gives some other type of bonus to dispel checks, then your still get it, even when your CL is >10.

Edit: The +4 bonus granted by the inquisition domain does not say it is an effective caster level increase, so your level 10 cleric witn that domain would get d20+10+4 for a dispel check.

The inquisition domain allows you to go above the caster level cap, since it is a bonus to the check, not to your caster level. If the item you're talking about is a dispelling chord, then that also goes over the cap, since it is likewise a bonus to the dispel check, not to your caster level.

Edit: Those two stack btw, so you could get up to +16 on a dispel check. Add in the bonuses from master specialist (abjuration) (half class level, so up to +5) and elven spell lore (+2), you can get up to +23 (including the +10 from caster level) to a regular dispel magic check. With arcane mastery letting you take 10 on that you can dispel any spell of up to caster level 22 automatically with a 3rd level spell.
