Dread Necromancers and familiars

Do a familiar's spell like abilities function off of the master's stats or it's own?
Is there a formula for familiars with SLAs, and if so can I get a reference?

It's for a Ghostly Visage familiar, if anyone wants to know.

Your ghostly visage's fear effect will be based on its virtual hit dice (your Dread Necromancer's HD). Generally it's Cha Mod + 10 + 1/2HD.

It uses its own stats. It has nothing to do with you.
