Auracrystal:
This special material is mainly used to make crystal magic items to protect from the plane of positive energy (http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showthread.php?t=314271). In fact, energy surges on the plane of positive energy cause the creation of these crystals (some can also cause the creation of these crystals (http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showthread.php?t=314621) on their own). In addition to that use, it can also be used in the creation of some weapons. A weapon made of auracrystal heals those attacked with positive energy instead of damaging them. The amount of healing provided is equal to the amount of damage that would have been dealt. Creatures that are damaged by positive energy are damaged by this effect for double the amount that would be healed. If you roll a natural 1 on an attack roll with a auracrystal weapon, you must roll a d20. If this roll is a 1, the crystal shatters and becomes powerless.

Auracrystal weapons cost more than their normal counterparts, as follows. You can buy daggers, short swords, longswords and greatswords made of auracrystal. The cost to make it out of auracrystal is 350 gp on top of the price of the weapon. You can also buy arrows or crossbow bolts made of vitacrystal. The cost for this is 10 gp per arrow. Any weapon made of auracrystal is considered a masterwork item.

Auracrystal can also be used in powder form. Half a pound of auracrystal powder, if prepared properly and sprinkled on a dead body, reduces the amount of time that body has been dead by 10% of the time the body has been dead. This can allow effects like raise dead or resurrection to work past when they normally would. Once used, the powder is powerless. Half a pound of prepared auracrystal powder costs 250 gp.

1 pound of raw, unworked auracrystal costs 140 gp, and is a trade good.

5% chance of breaking on every use is basically crippling, for a material that exists exclusively to have a Cleric running around with a greatsword bonking their allies with

I went with a break chance to stop it from being endless healing. I could tweak the numbers, but this thing will break. 5% was just easy to set up. I have my new number.

EDIT: It is now 5% of 5%, or 0.25%.

Interesting, but you should set a universal price adjustment as weapons are quite varied but maintain a consistent power-to-price ratio.

Huh. I thought that, seeing as the list of weapons was so small, I could just list the prices. If I did switch to a flat price, it would be +350 gp... Wait, wording fix. The listed numbers are supposed to be the final price, not an adjustment.

I don't think that attacks on a helpless target require an attack roll. If I am correct than this is infinite healing.

Even if it had a 5% failure chance per use, it would probably be more efficient on average than a similar number of points worth of healing from potion, probably scrolls, and maybe even wands. Note that potions are the appropriate point of comparison, since anyone can use it regardless of spell-casting ability.

Also, shouldn't you specify mechanically how it protects from the positive energy plane?

I would hope you aren't right, as the break chance is to stop it from being infinite. That said, I have nothing against infinite healing.

Eh, I think potions are overpriced anyway. But, I personally did think the break chance was better at 5%.

It does that by being used in the creation of magic items (http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showthread.php?t=314271) that do that.

Also, this project has moved to another thread thread (http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showthread.php?t=314271).

Might be nice to make the links in the first post more clear what they link to. I'll try to move the other things I have to say to this new thread.
