Hey.

I've got a question about poison damage in D&D 3.5...

In GM Guide it says:
"Initial Damage:
The damage the character takes immediately upon failing his saving throw against this poison. Ability damage is temporary unless marked with an asterisk (*), in which case the loss is a permanent drain. Paralysis lasts for 2d6 minutes."

I get that ability damage often is temporary, but does that mean that it just goes anyway by itself after some time? If yes, how long?? :smalleek:

I can't seem to find the answer in any of the books.

They return at a rate of one point per day, or double that with complete bed rest. The information in question can be found here (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/specialAbilities.htm#abilityDamage), and there is an identical section in the books. I think it might be in the monster manual, though I'd have to check to be sure. This should suffice though.

Edit: Yep, got it in one. MM I, page 305, under ability score loss.
