Is there a way to make a monks melee attacks have reach or increase their range?
Was looking into doing a monk like dhalsim from street fighter.

Size increases, such as from Enlarge Person (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/spells/enlargePerson.htm), are the easiest way to increase your reach. Some feats, such as Inhuman Reach, from Lords of Madness, and Deformity (Tall), from Heroes of Horror, can increase your natural reach.

The spell Blood Wind, from Spell Compendium, lets you make a full attack with natural weapons or unarmed strikes as if they were thrown weapons with a 20-ft. range increment.

A Necklace of Natural Attacks (http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/fc/20060707a) with the Throwing (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/magicItems/magicWeapons.htm#throwing) and Returning (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/magicItems/magicWeapons.htm#returning) properties would let you apply said properties to your unarmed strikes.

There's a feat in Dragon Compendium called Ring the Golden Bell that can do this. You can even flurry or Stunning Fist at range. Problem is it's very limited in uses/day, so I would ask your DM to either pump it up a lot, change it to per encounter, or both.

for stretchy limbs like dhalsim, you might wanna consider a changeling warshaper with inhuman reach. 15ft reach on your punches is pretty neat. Then if you get a spiked chain, you get 30ft reach, but that sounds like it's beyond the scope of what you're asking.

You can also get the Throwing and Returning property through Kensai PrC - over the 10 levels it gives you a total of +10 enchantent bonus and it can explicitly work on natural weapons.

There is also the Bloodstorm Blade class, which allows you to treat thrown attacks as meele and gives a lot of other related goodies.

Both of those classes are fairly easy to get into, so there is no reason not to take both.

And if you have problems with convincing anyone, that a monk can throw his arms or legs around, refer to Dhalsim.

Ki Barrage (Dragon #306, pg. 54)
Prerequisites: Dex 16+, Wis 19+, Improved Unarmed Strike, Precise Shot, Point Blank Shot, Stunning Fist
For 1 round unarmed attacks count us thrown weapon with increment 30 ft.
Cost one use of Stunning Fist

Also, if you mentioned Dhalsim, how about Inhuman Reach feat from Lords of Madness?

Never thought at him as a monk!

Which is hilariously fun when combined with the Epic Feat Distant Shot. Shapechange into a Spellweaver, get Mindsight, and you can punch people from a thousand miles away.
