Ok guys, I am new to Dnd and have recently started playing. So far, i have played 3.5 and 3.5 pathfinder, and with maybe a few months of play, i am still a nooby. I was hoping someone could help me find a new, fun build for a campaign i am about to start. Something out of the ordinary, but not too complicated with the 7 different multiclasses. I have only played a druid and an oracle, but I have read up on a Str sorc build with the dragon disciple that seemed pretty interesting, and i also find necromancy to be pretty cool. If anyone can help me with builds, or give me an idea of any fun builds in general, it would be most appreciated

(I think its a 35 point-buy system, if that helps any)

Thanks guys :P

I have a few silly things going on.

Totemist5/Vampire2/Souleater1/Life Drinker

Paladin2/Marshal3/Ghost2/Master of the Unseen Hand.

Human (Templated to outsider) Divine Minion Swordsage2/Master of Many Forms7/Chameleon2

Wait, what level is this?

I think we would be starting at level one. I don't think we have ever started any higher. Just looking for some cool ideas for a beginning character :)

I do like the vampire idea though, sounds really interesting. I'll check it out!

What level? What books? What role? How much optimization cheese?

In the meantime, I'll throw out one I've wanted to try for a while, Wildshape Ranger (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/variant/classes/variantCharacterClasses.htm#ranger) 5/Master of Many Forms 2-7/Warshaper 5/the rest of Master of Many Forms. Turn into all the creatures!

EDIT: Maybe not that one, then-- it won't really start working until mid-levels.

For level, more than likely level one or three. As for books, I'm not sure, so we can assume basics. I know we have advanced race guides and 4 beastaries, but I'm not totally sure since this is a new group. Any ideas will help though :P and any role. Prefer a non healer since that's all I've been doing

Is this for Pathfinder, then? I think those are Pathfinder books you mentioned. In which case is 3.5 material allowed?

Ur-Paladin is always fun.

Savage Bard 4, Cleric 1, Ur-Priest 4, Prestige Paladin 11.

Surprisingly, this all works:

Ur-Priest requires that you forsake any Divine casting you possess, but not the class features. But since we're going Ur-Priest, we don't care about spells.

Now, to take Prestige Paladin, we have to become Good, which has the knock on effect of automatically changing the Cleric level's Rebuke Undead into Turn Undead.

Now, you might be thinking "But I no longer qualify for Ur-Priest", well, actually we no longer qualify to take more levels in Ur-Priest, but we keep the casting we already have. Which, in addition, gives us something that Prestige Paladin can increase, all the way to 9th level spells.

TL;DR: Prestige Paladin can be used to increase Ur-Priest, giving you a Paladin with 9th level spells.

It sounds like you are talking about pathfinder, not 3.5e.

Is this a 3.PF game (IE, a homebrew mix of pathfinder and 3.5e?)

Remember, you can get the ENTIRETY of Pathfinder here:

http://www.d20pfsrd.com/

And here is a guide to which you can get lots and lots of online 3.5e:

I believe we are playing pathfinder, not 3.5e. Sorry if I'm a little confusing, like I said, still new to everything :P

I use d20pfsrd a lot for our games. Absolutely love it. I'm just having trouble building/finding something fun that isn't a core class. For example, necromancer isn't a core class like a paladin or monk, so I'm a little lost on how to do so. I know the juju oracle and clerics can be built to where they are a necromancer, I'm just a little ignorant on how to do so, more so on the feats and such.

Basically just want a few ideas of some cool builds/classes to play so I can look more into it, or even someone pointing me in the direction of a necro build XD

Again, sorry for the confusion :P

Yes, it is pathfinder. How the group explained it to me was that it is basically 3.5 with a little extra. So I'm not totally sure if that means 3.5 is allowed or not. Regardless, any ideas won't hurt :) I'll check with the DM and see about the 3.5 material.

Try an Orc Witch. Use the Scarred Witch Doctor racial variant. Take the Strength patron.

All your spellcasting works off your constitution score. You will have a decent amount of hit points because of this. If you can get the improved version of Orc Ferocity, you can continue fighting at negative hit points, or just take a time out and heal yourself whenever you hit negatives.

Use one of the Orc subraces instead of the Common Orc, for better attribute scores. Cast buff spells like Enlarge and run into combat, or just sit back and cast debuff spells and help the party with mopping up the remaining opposition.

All of that other stuff is a waste of time. Go summoner. It's the only class I consider seriously playing in PF.

Synthesist is pretty cool, but ask your DM how it works. I am one of those people that say you can use your normal natural attacks while fused, in addition to your evolution ones.

Alchemist base class (http://www.d20pfsrd.com/classes/base-classes/alchemist) + Preservationist (http://www.d20pfsrd.com/classes/base-classes/alchemist/archetypes/paizo---alchemist-archetypes/preservationist) archetype + Planar Preservationist (http://www.d20pfsrd.com/feats/general-feats/planar-preservationist) feat.

Alchemists use "extracts," which are pretty much like spells. Preservationist adds Summon Nature's Ally extracts, which... well...

When he prepares that extract, he actually prepares a tiny, preserved specimen in a bottle (as with a caster casting the spell, the preservationist doesn’t have to choose the creature until he uses the extract). When the alchemist opens the bottle, the specimen animates and grows to normal size, serving the preservationist as per the spell and otherwise being treated as a summoned creature.

The feat lets you also learn summon monster spells.
