If someone wanted to rp being a pack animal, that could also fight, what sort of... I don't know, build do you see that would trick others thinking you are just a donkey or horse, but do damage when they came near?

Wasn't there that anthromorphic baleen whale that someone used in a Iron Chef tournament? Sure, a whale isn't everyone's first choice of pack animal... but this whale had 40+ Str without trying. Just give him an anchor to swing around :smallwink:

Who in their right mind is going to look at this thing and think it's a harmless pack animal?

The problem with anthropomorphic animals is that they look more human than animal--they're not going to be walking on four legs and all that.

Druid (as pointed out) would work nicely especially as a disguise to meld with a caravan or getting into a hostile city.

Awakened animals with class levels could be an answer for you.

Or if you are not against 3rd party materials, Noble Wild by Skirmisher Publishing lets you actually play (noble) animals so you can be the draft horse or donkey carrying around the party's gear.

Funny, in my last campaign our heaviest hitter was the dire mustang the bard had charmed into letting him ride (Rest of group was rogue, cleric, and monk)
