View Full Version : Threads to be put into the sticky.

I'm not sure whether this should be put here or in suggestion.

I think the important/reoccuring/FAQ thread post needs to be updated. I think the thread where they compile a list of character appearances, the wone where the count speech balloons, the "things you noticed" thread and the thread where we guess what MiTD is should be put there.

Also, the V's gender debate thread ended in 2011, and it would be nice if the new thread for it was placed there if it exists.

If anyone has ideas for threads that should be put in the sticky, please list them.

List of Char Appearances
The Geekery thread
MITD Thread
Things You Didn't Notice Thread
and Discussion Thread Index off top of my head.

I agree. Should be stickied.

Yes, hopefully this leads to more than the last one did.

My vote is for The Annotated Order of the Stick (http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showthread.php?t=306917). It's like the "Things you Didn't Notice" thread, except that it actually compiles those things to help other people notice them in the future.

EDIT: And, ironically enough, is created by the exact same person who tried to make the last "things which should be stickied" post which Grey Wolf linked to.

I'm guessing we're about at the end of the current book, so after perhaps 1 - 3 more comics I wouldn't be surprised to see a formal hiatus declared until next year. ("The Order of the Stick Will Return On..." etc.)

Which makes me think that the aforementioned threads will just kind of naturally rise to the top, as people find things to ponder in between storylines.

The problem with stickying a lot of these threads is that they tend to run fairly quickly to the end and a new one ends up being made. That's a lot of extra work for the mods, I'd imagine, if they were sticky rather than regular threads.

It didn't peter out. I sent it up to the mods and got no answer. And tried sending it a few more times.

Why thank you for that submission! I really need to catch up on updating that list.

No one is suggesting to sticky these threads.

The suggestion is to update the Sticky Thread Important/Reoccuring/FAQ Threads or Notices (http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showthread.php?t=6496), which is just horribly out of date.

If it is not deemed important enough to update this thread, I think the best would be getting rid of it. Having such a Sticky containing massively outdated and even invalid links just defeats its purpose.

But I would like to keep such a thread alive, because I think it just makes live easier for people (especially without a search function).

And I would like to add the thread I started (Collecting OotS Kickstarter Reward Drawings (http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showthread.php?t=309805)) to that updated post: I think the awesome stuff Rich has drawn for us should be preserved somehow, and I think the thread itself will be vanishing in the Forums quite likely, because I really don't see why there should be much discussion in that thread. (Maybe that will change when there are some Crayon Drawings, but we will see it when we get there.)

I updated my project just now to account for those two submissions. Should we merge this and my thread together?
